I'm all set to return to EQ after close to 2 years away but I'm kind of clueless about what gear to upgrade. I've been out since maybe 4 months after Luclin came out so I'm a tad out of touch. I have two questions:

1) Old friends have offered to let me use two weapons, one is a Legendary Dagger of Might, the other is a Gladiator's Jereed. Which should I use? I would have my epic as my other weapon, in whichever hand is better.

2) Here is my magelo. I know the gear is mostly outdated, but what are some upgrades I should work towards?

I dont have much cash (maybe 15k) to work with so it would mostly have to be things I can get people to camp with me or buy cheaply.

I've been gone so long that I feel like a total newbie, so any help would be appreciated.

1) Personally I would put the Jareed in main and epic in offhand.

2) What are your goals now that you've returned to EQ? Raiding? Exp'ing? Casual gaming with friends? Also, what friends do you have available to group with, most of the good equipment is no drop.

Some ideas, my prices will probably be way off:
Midnight mantle (1-2k?)
A second velium FE ring (600pp?)
Camp an Axgoreth's Belt of Defense with a group (Free!)
Silver Chitin Bracer to replace the Hero (4k?)
**Or quest a Bracer of Benevolence - you probably have good CoV faction (Free!)
Kylong Darkmail face piece (No idea the cost)
**Or a darkmetal visor (Cheaper)
Camp Kingly Boots of Splendor in Droga (Free! or 10kish?) Marauder Koer Poisondirk and Koerin Scales
Tradeskills total: 1272
192 Baking
129 Blacksmithing
248 Brewing + GM Trophy
200 Fishing
200 Fletching
200 Jewel Craft
250 Poison Making + GM Trophy

108 Tailoring

Thanks for the advice

As for my playstyle, I will probably be somewhat casual with mixed pick up groups and friend groups with possibly some raiding added in. My bf revived his old pally to play also, but he hasn't played in even longer than I have and is lvl 53. My old friends are all 65 and are in elemental guilds. I don't have any flags and I really don't know how that all works yet so I don't know if I can get to raid with them any time soon. Their guilds allow friends to show up but I'm not sure if I'd be eligible for any drops.. probably not at first anyway.

I didn't realize that the LSoF was still a desirable weapon - I assumed that it would be outdated. I remember getting it right before I quit playing and thinking it was pretty decent though.

GJ/Rage should outdamage Rage/LSoF, because a 12% increase in mainhand dam should more than make up for the 15% lost off hand dam. Ishwar - level 65 Barbarian Rogue - GM smith
