Someone paid for me to have Luclin & Kunark added to my EQ account but is there any way for me to find out what they are giving me?
OK I know Luclin gives me the Bazaar but I don't even know where the Bazaar is. I have a suspicion that Luclin gives me the ability to use the spires but surely I do not have to rely on guesswork? I also guess that Kunark gives me more zones but what zones and where? Do Sony just rely on the hype surrounding the launch, eg I know more about how LDON works than I do about the 'older' expansions

Roblex,
You coul prbably find this information easier and more thoroughly elsewhere... but in a nutshell...
Kunark Expansion gives you the continent of Kunark. It has maybe 20 zones and gives you the race of Iksar as a character to play. You can reach there through a boat in Butcherblock, a boat from Oasis of Marr (if playing an evil race) or teleport in through Plane of Knowledge. Best stuff with Kunark... Well if you are playing a group dependant character such as a Rogue... you will likely be stuck there in a zone called Dreadlands from 35 thru 46 and then moving next door to Karnor's Castle until at least level 50.
Luclin Expansion- gives you the Bazaar which is a trip unto itself. Basically you have to see it to understand it but you can turn yourself into a vendor and sell items while you are AFK and/or shop from other player characters who may want to sell there items like Silver Chitin Hand Wraps. Prices are not stagnant so there can be haggling if players are not aFK (away from keyboard) and players can chose to sell items at whatever price they feel is approrpriate, generally driving the price down on gear, particularly lower level gear. Luclin (which is the moon) is reached via Spires and they are activated every 15 minutes or so. It also gives you tthe chance to play Vah Shir (cat people) and a new class called Beast Lords. It also has horses, which I dont have one so I cant really tell you much about that.
I hope this helped and was not too confusing.

Thanks,
OK so Kunark just gives me another continent so it is no different to catching the boat from Butcherblock to Antonica was ? Nothing else new? No new things I get access to or things I can do?
Luclin gives me the Bazaar, how? Do I just use the spires and end up in the Bazzar? I will try it out if I am not too drunk ( I have had to re-type this three times )
Happy Christmas or whatever you feel like celebrating

Just like catching a boat to Antonica, yeah except graphically speaking Kunark, for the most part, has a more 'detailed' look.
A lot of mid-level equipment and gear drops in Kunark. Epic and Raid monsters were awesome here back in the day.
When you use the Spires to go to Luclin, you end up in the Nexus. You can reach the Bazaar from the Nexus.
If you dont mind my suggesting... go to eqatlas.com
Fantastic resource for maps to these new zones for you and what zones connect them and even what you can hope to find there. Best of luck.

Thanks again, I never go anywhere without consulting EQatlas and printing out a map Trouble is EQAtlas does not do guides saying 'Luclin gives you xx which you reach by doing yy' or 'zzzzz allows you to have a larger inventory' etc.

www.eqatlas.com/kunark/kunarkzones.html and www.eqatlas.com/luclin/luclinzones.html should give you a basic idea of what they include, as well as some hints on how to get there. everquest.station.sony.com/kunark.jsp and everquest.station.sony.com/luclin.jsp are the info pages linked from the items' entries in the online store. They don't really give much info, but finding out details has always been considered part of the game... -------------------------

Yes I agree that Sony should let you find out for yourself but here is *everything* they say about Luclin on the link you posted:
Quote:The satellite of Luclin has been discovered, and now Norrathians can venture to the eerie moonscape in EverQuest®: The Shadows of Luclin™. This expansion pack is playable by characters of all levels and provide s thousands of online RPG fans with new zones, a new race and a new class, hundreds of new items, spells, and creatures to battle... all in addition to brand new character models supported by an enhanced 3D engine!
It is not inconceivable that a newbie who does not surf the unofficial EQ sites or join a guild could buy EQ and Luclin and play for years without ever noticing that the spires are a means of travel. Not only that but he might not even realise that he has not used any of the Luclin expansion because Sonys description is so vague! I am sure that when Luclin was released there was a lot of info on the Sony sites but now it is 'old-hat' there is almost nothing.
Truth be told there is probably too much info on the unofficial sites and it takes away some of the fun but I think Sony have gone to far the other way. If I had to rely totally on what Sony say about their old expansions then I would probably not buy any at all. Most people won't pay out good money based on so little information.

Both expansions give you new zones to play in and new skills to gain. Kunark is the expansion that allowed you to increase level from 50 to 60. Luclin gave us Alternate Advancement skills, or AAs, giving you something else to do with experience besides leveling after level 50.
You don't say which other expansions you have or what level you are. What class do you play? That might help us tell you what to look for. Quentis Locksmythe - Redeemed and Raging Assassin

Well as I am posting here I thought it kind of obvious I was a Rogue I am level 16 but that it not important as I was not looking for detailed strategy guides, just commenting on the fact that the 'Official' site gives virtually no information at all other than what the expansions cost, what they are called and that they contain new places to go; well Duh!
