What stats most effect the ATK rating? After having Avatar cast on me a few times, I'm a ATK junkie, and would like to try and self boost ATK as much as possible.

ATK... well, strength, primary hand weapon skill, and then attack gear (ie items with Vengeance, Aura of xxx, ect.), and some spells, (Avatar, SoT, Ferocity, ect.), are what determines your attack rating.
Strength only works until it is capped.
Weapon skill only increases until it's capped.
Worn Attack stacks to 250 (Veng. 50).
Spells stick on top of all of that.

There are a lot of relatively cheap LDON equipment that can hold vengence augs. I personally prefer the vengence 2 aug for 510 points as being a more effective way to go.

according to your allakhazam profile you are 58 and have 181 str unbuffed. if i were you id steer way clear of putting any aa into stats. for one, if you have 188 unbuffed str, a HoS will cap you at 255. for two, even if you are a little below that, you can stact another str buff on top of that HoS to put you way above cap. for three, there are several aa's that would benefit you more then stat aa's. you know...like any other aa available to you
seriously, dont put any points into stats until you have all the other aa's. otherwise you will regret it later.

Hmm. Needed to update my profile a bit.
Anyway, I'm still working on the General AA, with 2aa's to go before I can start working on CF. (which I think is what I ought to be working for.)
What would you suggest dropping those into, if not stats? Regen or Resists? "Poor soul... He was just too high strung..."

Regen, metabolism, resists, first aid, lung capacity... I'd put all of those above the basic stat aa's for the simple fact that it's not overly difficult to find upgrades that can push your stats to the cap.
Personally, I did run3, regen3 to open up my archetype AA's. However, depending on how you play, metabolism3 might be nice in helping to preserve any stat foods you use. (As a Vah Shir, I noticed that this helped me a good deal on buying/making more for myself - but we're naturally gluttonous ). Shaded

anyway, it is believed by some that STR, while visually increasing your ATK score, does NOT have the same effect as raw ATK such as vengeance. thus, adding 10 STR is not as good as adding an Aura of Battle item.

I think that was in reference to ATK multipliers. 10str grants 10 change in atk, while AoB would give 12 (i think?) atk.

We did some parsing on the BST forum on this. It started out as a pure atk parse but it later added the same question about str and atk. It turns out that if you add 60 atk from more str (probably 70 or so +str needed for 60 atk), it's the same as adding 60 modified atk from atk gear.

Ferocity from beastlords, avatar from shamans, and the bard attack song boosts my attack for 1360'ish to 1820'ish, WOOT!

Don't forget to get an SK in your group who can keep casting that temporary ATK buff also.
I had an SK, shaman, and bard in a raidgroup onetime and after getting full buffs I got to 1950atk. It was like 100more than my previous max. I was loving it.

hell...doggie form in just a single group is great..it adds like 60-70 attack....form of the pumpkin is nice from chantys...it adds around 50 or so....strength of tunare and call of the predator from rangers adds a bunch, too

Necros have an ATK tap that lasts like 6 mins and gives 60+ ATK also. Kodey - 51 Rogue
