Recommended Level on Weapons

Hello all, old player but new to melee classes.

I've seen a few comments hinting that weapons with a recommended level does not affect the damage of the weapon even though it clearly shows the weapon has a lowered damage and I'm a bit confused.

So, if I am level 20 and the weapon I am using is listed as:

15(8) damage / 23 delay it is still operating as a 15/23 weapong and not a 8/23 weapon?

correct, that part of it is broken, verified/tested it last night as a matter of fact, it will work as 15/23 no matter what level you are. Marauder Snowblind, Barbarian Deceiver

Pay no attention to the recommended damage on a weapon ... it means nothing (For now). My little twink beastie has been using his entwood mace since level 1 and it has been a 14/20 the entire time. Marauder Koer Poisondirk and Koerin Scales
