View Full Version : Question about Stanos' Gaunts Vs. Eyepatch of plunder

hey folks, I'm a 47 rogue and I just got an ornate chain gaunt pattern from a friend who didn't need it. Anyway the effect on them is "Marvelous Visions" which lucy says is a 30% haste that stacks with worn haste. Lucy also says that Captain Nalots quickening (the effect on the EPoP) is 20% stackable haste. Now my question is now that I will have the gaunts (as soon as I can turn them in at 55 I think) does it mean I don't have to worry about questing the eyepatch? I was really dreading having to camp stormfeather, so if Marvelous visions is better I'll be very happy.
So are the gaunts better? Or am I missing something?

Not only is the haste on the gauntlets better haste, but it lasts over an hour. I often go ahead and use them even when grouped with a chanter or shaman to help when their haste drops, which always seens to be right when the puller comes back with 5-6 mobs.
And yeah, forget about Stormfeather. There is no longer any reason to camp him. Unless you want clicky self-haste prior to level 55.

Gaunt haste and eyepatch haste stack, but the highest haste overrides.
No reason to camp stormfeather if you have gaunts.

the stanos glove effect is actually now miraculous visions [ lucy.allakhazam.com/spell.html?id=3710 ]
It was previously marvelous visions [ lucy.allakhazam.com/spell...ource=Live ] but it was nerfed [ lucy.allakhazam.com/itemh...l?id=12597 ] Derrict Thealcoholic - Nameless Server

So I take it you mean both buff icons will stay present? Because by your very desription of how they work together, they simply do not stack.

Correct. Both buff icons stay up, but the highest haste is the only one that's in effect.

I thought the eyepatch was Bard haste? Maybe I'm mistaken. Kodey - 51 Rogue

The Eyepatch Haste is not Bard haste and does not stack.
Both icons (as said above) will be present, however the haste effects do not stack. Riot Sio`Zon 65 Rogue

Correct, the icons stack. I've tested with having VQ, Wonderous Rapidity and Speed Of The Brood, all icons appeared on my buff window, none OVERWRITING any others, however, the *haste* effect of each buff is overwritten always, by teh highest. The reason this happens, as I heard is so that haste buffs which offer statistic enhancements will still provide full benefit. So, yes this means you will get 70% haste from Wonderous Rapidity, AGI/DEX/ATK from Vallons Quickening, and AGI/AC from Speed Of The Brood. But, only the HIGHEST % Haste will take effect, which in this case is Wonderous Rapidity, 70% haste, and the highest in the game available for casted haste, to my knowledge.

excelent, I can't tell you how much of a relief that is. When my friend told me he had an ornate chain pattern sitting around I was hoping it would be the sleeves (I'm a regen addict) and when he said It was the gaunts I was a little dissapointed cause I already had kylong and the stats on the Stanos' ones didn't seem that impressive.
As you have probably guessed my opininon is much different now, trouble is I have 6 more levels before I can turn the pattern in

Similarly, most bard haste songs work just like haste spells, only the highest haste takes effect even if both icons are showing. Only the Vah'Shir-Rizlona-Muse line are actual stacking haste songs that go over the haste cap. (The ervaj line also stacks, but it doesn't break the cap.) -Ruldar Swiftnote <Clan X>

ok, since we are talking about haste - where does Ragebringer fit into all of this? Do I need any other haste item?

On the other hand, the Eyepatch still has some nice stats for those of us who can't afford a Flayed Barbarian Hide Mask

AoW can now be done by 3-5 groups. Depending on your gear. Its not that hard to get AoW loot anymore.

And if you are like me a DID do the horrendous Stormfeather camp (9 days GRRRRRRR) and now have the Stanos Gaunts, you at least have a free junk buff for dispell raids. /shrug
