LD on GoD beta character select?

I have downloaded DX9 etc, but I keep getting disconnected just as I reach the character select screen.
Anyone else have this problem and/or know how to fix it?

New patcher (well, new as of the beginning of last week) which needs to be in your EverQuest directory (as opposed to a GOD-copy directory).

After I did both of the above, it worked for me.

... which character? this is happening to me the first time I log into the beta server, haven't created a character there yet...

Read the news on the beta page after you have clicked the beta sign in button....

Dunno, had a guildie with the same problem. He have upgraded to DX9.0b, new gfx drivers and still cant log on after patching. I will pass the suggestion about trying default UI on though.

An official SoE beta board would have been nice/smart for those sorts of questions/problems

after running the latest patcher (read the beta schedule, up top), check your EQ dir for a new .exe. tank guy

Run TestEverQuest but do not autoplay, when it finishes patching, run EQBetaPatcher, when that's finished, click Play.
