For your off hand, ratio is king for dps. The weapon type for off-hand makes no difference at all, however, you will find better ratio slashers and blunts then you will piercers, and for less cash. -Sinc

Ratio, backstab modifires, atk bonuses and haste are what you are looking for.

I cant check magelo, so I cant give you more specific advice.

At level 41-59 your piercing skill will also cap higher, so this favors piercers. Ishwar - level 65 Barbarian Rogue - GM smith
