Hello,
just started a new Rogue on a PvP server, worked him up to level 8 so far, and I've got a few questions if someone would be kind enough to help out. The questions I've got are about items and politics on T Zek and of course how to best play my rogue.
I've been working fairly smoothly so far, newbie levels arent so hard in EF, but I got to thinking, I picked The Tribunal for a diety...did I mess up huge or is that ok? just went with something a little different this time, being a PvP server it doesnt seem like I'll be doing excessive faction work to crawl around in Darkie cities to help friends so didnt seem like Agnostic would be all that neccessary of a choice? Guess thats a hope and a prayer that one of the upcoming diety quests will be for barbs that choose the Tribunal.
I figured out how to macro a key to stop my attack and pp and then start attack again, and I'm gonna tack sense trap on the back of it just for giggles to start working on that skill for free, but is there any other really good macro buttons I should set up?
Are there any locked doors around EF or Qeynos that are for newbie rogues to learn on? I remember hearing a long time ago the rule was put in 6points and head to Befallen, but ... I think befallen is a darkie zone, and I think all bets are off on Befallen now that it's changed... plus I really dont want to leave everfrost yet if I dont have to.
I noticed and dont know if this is coincidence or cause and effect, but when I was manually stopping my attack to pp and also hitting the hide button then attacking again, the blue mobs would stay around a LOT longer even though they would normally run after being hurt so bad. Did it just work out that way or does evade even help when solo'ing like that?
Next question... was what I did the Evade tactic? stop attacking and hit Hide... or do I need to use hide and sneak?
What about weapons and armor? I have a little pp to spend, got about 70ish total, sold some HQ bearskins RS is what I'm shooting for now right? but that might be a little rare or hard to come by on a pvp server, I'm not sure, and there's the new quest armor in Halas and a dagger if I get another stack and a half of gnoll furs so I think thats what I'll shoot for until I get a little more banked up. Being level 8 I should be able to start collecting mammoth calf skins fairly soon I hope. So with that in mind, what I should be looking for in equipment now and in the near future? And how much does RS go for on T Zek?
What about guilds and the server community on T Zek? I've heard and read in various threads that guilds in pvp servers are generally much more selective of members and reputation counts a LOT more than on blue servers. Is there a server board that people go to like there is for Drinal?
Also, any tips for a newbie to pvp? Norrath is not new to me, been playing for some time now, but I dont know the deal with pvp. I've heard some of the rules did change and others might be changing soon. Is it just gank anyone on a different team or is it only if you are in dispute over a spawn or you dont like the way their dressed or ? I played a gnome to level 4 one time on Tallon and I remember there was quite the little war going between gnomes and elves, but that was maybe a year and half ago.
