Hello, I'm Smelvin the gnecromancer, and this is my tale. I was born in Ak'Anon, I was, which was a crazy place I must say. Over a hundred gnomes flitting to and fro, everything in sight they killed. Smelvin tried his best to ignore the little yelps of pain as he slaughtered the little rats and skeletons.
After the fourth day it became clear to Smelvin that gnomes live in poverty, and Smelvin needs to be rich, so a plan I developed yes. Put all my wordly possessions in the bank, did I, and then I gathered up some friends and ran from the mountains. Smelvin and his band of gnomes headed for the Butcherblock docks.
Smelvin has always hated elves, and horribly disgusting were the Faydarks to him. Most noisy and smelly with elf stench. All those do-goodies laughing and dancing. /shiver
Anyway, to the docks did Smelvin run, losing everyone in his crew along the way. The last two died at the docks by discovering just how grumpy dwarveses are. They is grumpy, grumpy. Smelvin was smart though, and avoided them he did.
On the boat to Freeport, which Smelvin snucked onto, I had time to ponder. I was lonely and sad. Why could no one in the lands see the light from Bertoxxulous's eyes? That lovely light that Smelvin sees when he's closes his eyes to sleep or when he's at the annual gnome review looking at the finest females that Ak'Anon has to offer?
When Smelvin stepped off the boat in Freeport, prepared he did for the worst goodie good-goods. But quickly did Smelvin see that these people were like him! Everyone he meets, ogre warriors and human wizards, gnome rogues and even elf singers that wear the leather pants...all of them were allies to Smelvin. This was a most happiest day for Smelvin. Even Koboktik was smilings.
Now Smelvin is happy. I feels bad sometimes for the goody-good tall ones that are born into Freeport. It's Bertoxxulous's city and die they do most quickly. But then I realize that if they don't die, Smelvin will have no bones to make his slaves, and then Smelvin knows everything is good and sleep well he does.
