Wow...just kicked a Wizard's butt

This level 20 Wiz in my guild was talkin smack about Rogues and how much they suck yesterday. He even thought he could beat me when I am 8 levels higher than him. Since we were both in LOiO it was a good time to show him. And wow, this was the quickest duel I have ever been in. We started the duel within melee range, but I couldnt interrupt his root. He got 1 nuke off (133 dmg) and then the root fell. I ran up before he could cast again and hit him a few times for 20s. Then I got around to BS him and took away 2/3 of his HP total. 8 seconds later....BAM. He dead

The irony of the whole thing is that he still thinks he can beat me. He laughed at me because my BS was only a little stronger than his level 20 nuke, lol.

he should be smacked. simply at that level meelee can hit for a wizards nuke and have tons more hp and hit for more in meelee. if you have anything close to decent resists the level difference should make up

Not to rain on your parade but you killed a wiz 8 lvls lower than you. This really isn't suprising.

Now if HE had killed you it would be grounds for posting heh something like "OMG I suck a 20 wiz killed my 28 rogue should I delete my char?"

The only reason I felt pride because he was talking soooo much smack about Rogues and how much they suck. I admit, killing someone 8 levels below you is nothing to brag about, but in this case its a little different.

BTW, the reason I didnt resist was because I have 25 magic resist. The root only held for a couple secs though. I was wondering about that a little myselft

25MR you definately need a few things...

mask of deception 4ac +13cha +7MR

a pair of gold wolfs eye bracers +14MR for both

plat wolfs eye neck +9MR

runed bone fork +10FR +10CR +10MR

bloodstained mantle 6ac +3str +10MR

blackened iron crown 5ac 5str 5 to all saves

Thats +55MR in total.
Camp the mask and the fork.
Have a jeweler friend make the bracers + neck the materials should cost about 125pp.
The mantle costs around 50pp on RZ
The crown should be about 100pp

Hehe I killed Wizards 4-6 levels above me when I was a lowbie. They are gimp if they can't root you.

The only exceptable defeat by a Wizard I now except is Manaburn. And even then it should be close for them to get the cast off.

Low level wizards = crap.

When they get their first lure, you will have problems.

When they get their epic, you will have SERIOUS problems.

When they get Manaburn, you are dead.

A good wizard don't root...
