That's true now, but may not be the case when PoP comes out. Not sure if it's going to apply to class skills like Make Poison, but there will be "superior" versions of tradeskills (smithing, tailoring, etc) that effectively takes you over the 250 cap. So, I wouldn't discount it completely for future use.

Trying to pick up one of these on ARo, and am having a hard time getting a price on it. Tinkered geerlok stuff seems to go around 150-300pp (give or take) but I would think this would be more since it's not as common.

Anyone bought/sold one? Or just got an opinion?

i bought one in bazaar on Aro for 900pp. i dont know if that price was high or low, or even if they are commonly sold. it is the only one ive seen, it was on a trader mule

Thanks Greymouse! At least that will give me a starting point. Saw one for sale in /auction over the weekend (first one I've seen for sale), but the seller had no idea what to ask. Did a couple of pc's with no response, so he decided to hold on to it.

i know where they drop.
go to jagged pine and farm the poacher camp a named drops it there commonally.
we went there wit 5 ppl and by the time we left we each had one and we left another rotting.

btw it was on Aro server so there not that rare but they only drop off one of the named female mobs at the camp (cannot remember name)
the mobs are only high 30's

Unfortunately +% items dont stack, and they dont always take the greatest modifier.

Stick a lower +% backstab item in mainhand, and a higher in offhand, and it will use the lower +%. Stick a lower in mainhand and a higher in ranged, and it will use the higher.

So it actually checks Ranged => Primary => Secondary and takes the first it comes to. Not sure how it checks with other slots. Edited by: MarronD at: 9/30/02 9:25:52 am

Is it possible that it has to do with the order that you *place* the items regardless of slot? So if you placed the highest+ first it would get overwritten by whatever came last when calculating pluses?

Yeah, I've been on the lookout for these for a while... Had no luck on a Decanter, but finished my Vial trophy a bit ago so I'm enjoyin the extra chance to make mind melts for fun and profit! Also a very nice general use item for any tradeskill (yay 50cha!) Plus a free 10 slot 100% WR bag ain't half bad either *snicker*

Ok, did some poking around because I'm looking into getting one of these toys for my Poison Making. Can someone tell me if this Poacher Camp is the same as the "Bandit Camp" (Spot 10) on the map I have linked below from EQAtlas?

That looks like the correct spot, and yes the Half Elf mask drops in the same camp as the Decanter.

I tried it out last night, equiped Khal in offhand then Trident in mainhand, and you're assumption is correct. It takes the first mod that is placed onto your character.

Time to swap in the Primal and use Trident/Khal full time heh.

Doesn't work this easily now, darnit. Went there yesterday with hopes of grabbing a rotting one (I'm only 30). Met a Monk (with Rogue alt already positioned in-zone) who said she had been trying to get one for two weeks now. Also said it dropped from NPC named Zed, not his named npc wife in the same area.
