CotUH Faction - Post Nerf

I've been killing Queynos guards trying to raise my Circle faction, since I missed my chance to do it with Hanns. I have two questions though. First, is killing the guards the quickest way to raise it? Second, what is the easist why to check Circle? I am now Amiable to corrupt guards, but I have no idea what my Circle faction is. Should I just go visit Anson or is there an NPC in Queynos somewhere? --

Heck of a lot easier to give honey mead to the Irontoe dwarf in Qeynos.
I think you can check your faction directly with him

Does Trumpy reveal Corrupt Guard or Circle faction when conned? He and the corrupt guards always seem to con the exact same.

I did quite a few stacks of meads before getting bored and slaughtering the greenie guards.

Actually my grammar was wrong, so DOES the rat guy.

Here's a tip. Just keep con'ing the guards and merchants. When you in the bar pumping him with mead, your lowering the bartenders appreciation of you. All it take is 1 mead to suddenly get jumped on by about 4 npc's.

I started at indiff and ended dubious with merchant and good guards.

I am already threatening, after lots of meads and a nice pile of dead guards. I guess I can always just pull Trumpy to the zone if that becomes a problem, there's only a couple of light blue guards in the whole zone that can actually pose a problem and they are easily avoided.

Yes you do need to be ally.

Another easy way to raise faction starts in the rogues guild.

I forget the guys name but he's usually in the room next to Hans'. He give you a note that you are supposed to take to a DE that spawns out the gate, foward and to the left around a corner in the wall. The note isn't lore so you can fill your packs with them.

Take them to the DE and give them to him (some conversation may be needed). He will give you notes to take back to the first guy. There is no zoning involved and you get faction 3 times for each note.

My experience was that these notes provide a larger increase than giving gold to the begger or plying Tumpy like a prom date. The only downside is that the DE spawns around midnight and despawns before dawn. Runehammer Trollsbane

But the way i went from threateningly all the way to ally with circle of unseen hands was the easiest of routes.

(1) Hand tumpy his honey meads till dubious con.

(2) Go find Hanns in the secret rogue's guild under the Crow's Nest tavern, get infront of him and say this, "Carson has a mole in highpass." There is no bad faction from doing this and everytime you say it to him faction is increased until you max it out.

Why waste and time and wrong faction damage by killing guards?

Thanks Runehammer, I'll look into that. I finally finished my GMAV last night (2nd attempt, 246+decanter, for those keeping score) so I need to get in gear and get this faction crap outta the way. I really wanna kick myself for putting this off and making it more difficult than it has to be.

Just a quick update, I went max ally two nights ago. I did it with a combination of killing guards and the Rogue Errands quest. It seems the corrupt guards come out at night, so I was running out of targets. I took that time to run notes between Kelgorn (sp?) and the DE. Went from Amiable to max Ally in a couple of hours doing this.

Quick question I have on this faction. I'm about to do my Renux battle for epic and I'm wondering about the faction hit for this kill. Advanced poisons will be some time away, but it's never too early to start planning for faction. I have decent faction with Unseen Hands now, but if Renux kill lowers it to max KOS then it wouldn't be worth improving faction until afterwards.

I'm having trouble with the note quest. I go down to talk to the guy and all he talks about is freeport/faydwer. I can't figure out what to say to get the note...Maybe i'm talking to the wrong guy, his name starts with a K. I also cannot find the Dark Elf outside the gates. I have even had a ranger come track him and he couldn't find him. I'm at amiable trying to get to ally.

Knargon Lanenda is his name . I think you need to say "what shipment ?" to get item to take to dark elf, whose name is Jracol Brestiage.

The dark elf suppossedly comes out at night, but I've seen him during the day too. If you face away from the gates, he is on the far right, near the corner.

Don't really need to say anything to him, just hand him what knargon gave you. You can hand in 4 at a time. Same with Knargon when you return the notes.

If you like to follow dialogue, you can say "lovely night for a stroll" to Jracol, followed by "I am a friend."

Jracol is at loc p1100 by n860 in North Qeynos. He roams a bit in that area, but he should be within sight from the center of the clump of trees there. -- Lemac Dushae

Jracol spawns at ~9pm game time.

What I did to raise CotUS from dubious to ally:

20 stacks of Honey Mead to that lush Trumpy Irontoe, four at a a time (unstacked) put me at indiff. Then either do more Honey Meads to Trumpy or 3gp each to the Rat Misk guy near the docks in South Qeynos (whichever you prefer, faction gain seemed to be about the same) until ~7pm game time. Then load up on Bent Playing Cards from Knargon (a hotkey of /say What shipment? is nice) and you'll be ready for Jracol when he spawns. Do the loop between Knargon and Jracol until Jracol despawns (~6am game time). Back to Trumpy and Rat Misk. Then back to Knargon and Jracol. Voila! Ally.

I didn't have max ally with CotUS when I did my turnin to Renux, by the way, and I only had 240 make poison.

Did my GMAS last night. spent two hours turning in gold for faction from apprehensive to amiable. Got frustrated and began slaughtering every qeynos hill guard in sight! best faction is off these guys. Make sure you con them though! if they are amiable or whatever they are on Kane bayle faction and youll take a bad Couh hit!


the only guards on kane faction i came across were the two at the smith house and one buy where hadden spawns. the rest are fair game and pretty easy, could take the whole guard tower at once no sweat. More fun for faction this way and easy to check, kane bayle and Couh are pretty close together so you can check the faction off the one of the three guards out there.
