sounds like a quest (like EP god one?). killed him multiple times having seen one of those though.

As Cerezo posted, previously it was like this:

Essence of Mud (Item 16264) used to be called Essence of Earth, yes the one you needed to get for Essence of the Gods quest that was supposed to drop from Rathe. A few of us got them before the change, but no one had killed Coirnav just yet so no one was able to use it before Sony changed it to Essence of Mud and added a new Essence of Earth (item 58012) that comes from Rathe. On Feb 25th all copies of Essence of Earth that dropped before the change were changed into Essence of Mud. So while there may be a future use for the Essence of Mud it is only there now because of a screw up by Sony.
