A rather well-planned assassination attempt. (Back In Black)

Attempt?
And wouldn't it be the 2048th anniversary? I'm pretty sure it happened in BC. Unless you're talking about something else.

Nice catch Caowyth. Some how I had it written down as C.E., not B.C.E. Edited by: Ciba at: 3/15/04 10:46 am

Tandom, those pics aren't even close to gross.

How did you lob off a finger? It looks kinda messy.
And how's it doing now?
A buddy of mine badly mangled a few of his fingers in a motorcycle accident about 7 years ago, and he's still limited in range, etc.

It would have been grosser to see pics before they were re-attached.

Happy De-digitization Day, buddy. Meant to stop by and say 'hi' but got caught between class and work.

"They're called fingers, yet they don't fing anything. Noodle that one for a while." -- Franklin Sherman
Happy anniversary to JC. Not many people in history give 60 people a reason to stab you at the same time. You're one of a kind.
sorry didn't have a cam at the time.. was more concerned with being de-fingered.
as for what happened. I was working at a theater moving some set pieces up from the basement onto stage through a trapdoor upstage. We'd lift then with a tow wench. Sadly I lost my balance and began to fall head first about 20 feet down.. I was able to reach out and catch the cable with my pinkie. For a moment my finger was supporting my full body weight.. and then it said.. "nope not gonna happen" and the cable severed it off along with some of my ring finger.
Thanks to my pinkie I managed to fall and land on my side vs on my head.
Went to the hospital (they seem to give you preferred treatment when you come in covered in your own blood.. huh go figure) and they sewed it back up..
the tendons were stretched and shot up int my hand and finger and weren't able to be re-attach that. but I can bind my pinkie and ring finger at the base of the hand. i can't wiggle them but I can still use them to grab things. ( grocery bags.. steering wheels.. beer bottles.)
The only reason the doc put it back on was because he said there was not enough flesh on hand to close it up and needed the finger for that.
and now I'm just waiting for advanced in modern medicine so they can get it back to full functionality.
If you ask me in-game I'll just say "hey I got caught.. Never again!"
side note: one of my friends read this and after 4 years never knew my hand was messed up.....

Backstab means never having to say you're sorry.
Ah ha, but the second trivia! Not for those of you in Latin classes, cheaters.
Just what is the Ides of March, and what is it about March (among a few other months) that makes the Ides special?!
Actually, strangely, we were just talking about this assassination today in play practice. We're doing The Music Man, and when Harold Hill is talking to the crowd in the gym before starting 76 Trombones, he says, "Friends, may I have your attention please?" But when he started to say it, I wanted him to say, "Friends, Romans, countrymen--lend me your ears!"
Good ol' Antony.
