a touching story coupled with some of the worst web design I have ever seen.

way over the top. I guess this extreme nationalism is not my thing.
Anyway, when all those people along the road manage to pay their respects, why is some photo hobbyist incapable of doing so? Or did he/she have his hand over his heart while taking pictures? right.
Agreed on the poor web design.
Wow, who pissed in your cornflakes?

*sigh* some people just don't get it....... Quote:I can imagine a no more rewarding career. And any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, I think can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction: 'I served in the United States Navy. -- JFK

Are you just making up reasons to be offended? Shame, shame on the photographers for documenting events to share later, instead of .. erm, instead of engaging in "extreme nationalism", which you're also complaining about. Right. Not to claim the status of a "real professional" in any one endeavor has been a small price to pay for the many benefits and pleasures of trespassing. ~Leo Lionni

yeah, I'm a pretty liberal dude who's wary of over-the-top nationalism, but man, get over it. Whether or not you believe in the cause that sent the guy to his death, he died for his country (read you if you're an American), and I think that kind of display is incredibly moving. Very touching, indeed.
...though I'll agree that whoever designed the page was very annoying with the imbedded sound (Back In Black)

I'm with Emmrys.
I don't fell like I "get it" just because I'm from the north, and I don't think we'd do something like that just because it's a different culture. It was still a good page. Regardless of views on the war, you can still feel bad for the soldiers. They, more than anyone else in our country, are effected by the decisions of our 'leaders'.

Kinda unrelated...
Expend a little extra effort and make the subject meaningful, please. No one thinks, "Oh! It's a Rewedanz post! Gotta read it no matter what, 'cause it must be something interesting!!" Edited by: Kelthana at: 3/20/04 7:39 am
