For those of you running in a lower resolution, keep your windows sized to a smaller aspect, or simply cant deal with too much change at one time, we have added an additional style that has the menus removed from the left hand column.

You can access control for this new style by either selecting the “oldsafehouse” style from your control panel, or you can use the quick style switcher located in the “Who’s Online” section at the bottom of the page.

Keep in mind that continued site development will focus on the main style template and the “oldsafehouse” template may lag behind in feature updates. Anything new we add to the site now has to be added to all the styles,

Thank you very much. Sometimes with volunteers you get more than you paid for.

Would it be possible to turn the sidebar on for the toplevel http://www.thesafehouse.org/ even while in the new style? It's difficult to get to the forums now if you're not already on them (you have to go through the search or profile or something similar), and while I don't need to be one click away from /GU at all times, it's nice to be able to get there occasionally.

I was just coming to note nearly the same thing.

When using the 'old safehouse' style, on the top level page www.safehouse.org there is NO link to the forums.

Makes it kinda difficult to get to the forums without a pre-existing favorite to them..

you are both correct as www.thesafehouse.org is the root of the Website.. not the forums..

the forums link is www.thesafehouse.org/index.php

I think the unspoken request was for the forums to be linked somewhere on the root page, thats accessable via the 'old safehouse' style...

Top right under the Inbox link would be a good spot, or possibly splitting the "search forum's" link into two separate links... "search" and "forums" would be a quick and easy fix I would assume.
