Simple Alpha Centauri question.

I was wondering about the setting 'Allow formers to raise/lower land'. If I allow them to automatically do this will they just raise/lower land to even out the land a base uses?

Or will the little @#%$ start making landbridges to my enemies landmasses?

They can inadvertantly make landbridges, if your city and an enemy island are close enough but I don't recall them ever making any on purpose I'm going straight to hell, just like my momma said.

So does that mean that my port cities have to worry about their water access getting removed by over ambitious formers tring to maximize usable land?
