Good @#%$ god my wrist hurts. I went to the range on Saturday to shoot off a Taurus 9mm my father owns and somebody there had quite the collection of guns. Among them was the new Smith & Wesson .50 caliber magnum revolver.
He let me shoot it once (each round cost $4) and it was wicked. I shoot at a Osama bin laden Silhouette and left a 1.5 foot hole in the target, not to mention denting the metal foils meant to catch the bullet and deflect it downward. For a person 6'2 and 220 pounds I still felt like I was going to fly backwards 2 feet. The vibrations shook my entire body and the sound was as if I hadn't even had ear protection on (I can still hear a ringing).
I'd thought I'd share that with some of you, especially if you're CS fans like me and think it would be easy as pie to unload a 7 round clip from a desert eagle in quick succession without fracturing your wrists :P
Here is a photo of the revolver. Look how long the barrel is (it's also quite heavy).
Oh yeah forgot to mention this was at the infamous Bullseye gunshop, famous for selling the Bushmaster rifle to John Lee Malvo, the DC sniper. They no longer carry the Bushmaster. ----------
"You there, fill it up with petroleum distillate, and re-vulcanize my tires, post-haste! Also, I'd like to send this letter to the Prussian consulate in Siam by aeromail. Am I too late for the 4:30 autogyro?" - Monty Burns
