The Safehouse Network, LLC. owns a copyright in the selection, coordination, arrangement and enhancement of such content, as well as in the content original to it. Viewers may not modify, publish, transmit, participate in the transfer or sale, create derivative works, or in any way exploit, any of the content, in whole or in part. Viewers may download copyrighted material for the viewers's personal use only.
Except as otherwise expressly permitted under copyright law, no copying, redistribution, retransmission, publication or commercial exploitation of downloaded material will be permitted without the express written permission of The Safehouse Network, LLC. and any potential third party copyright owner. In the event of any permitted copying, redistribution or publication of copyrighted material, no changes in or deletion of author attribution, trademark legend or copyright notice shall be made. The viewer acknowledges that it does not acquire any ownership rights by downloading copyrighted material.
Third Party Assets and Copyrights
The Safehouse works in the capacity of a gaming media and fansite entity. We promote, report, and discuss freely distributed information about the gaming industry. We do not claim copyright to any of the third party proprietary information we report, nor are we under any pretense of ownership. These third party trademarked corporations include, but are not limited to, Sony Online Entertainment, Blizzard Entertainment, Sigil Games Online, Cryptic Studios, and Mythic Entertainment. The games discussed at The Safehouse are owned and copyrighted by their respective production companies. This includes, but not limited to, all branding, logos, and original content.
Portions of The Safehouse contain exclusive information, materials, and content acquired through priviledged "affiliated media" agreements with the aforementioned companies. The Safehouse Network, LLC makes no claims to ownership to materials obtained through said agreements with the respective owners. The Safehouse Network, LLC does however restrict all usage of said materials found on The Safehouse to the aforementioned agreement by viewer.
Images produced by or for The Safehouse are watermarked. This watermark does not declare ownership of individual images, but serves to prevent misuse of said images. Tampering with, modifying, displaying, or altering these images is strictly prohibited in accordance with the above agreement. This includes third party watermarks as well.
Legal Obeisance and Responsibility
The Safehouse will not tolerate or promote community submitted content that violates Federal, State, or Local laws which include, but are not limited to, anything that violates a copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, or is bound by NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement).
The Safehouse reserves the right to disclose personal information when required by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to conform to the edicts of the law or comply with a legal process served on The Safehouse, protect and defend the rights or property of The Safehouse's network of sites, or visitors to The Safehouse, identify persons who may be violating the law, the legal notice, or the rights of third parties, and cooperate with the investigations of purported unlawful activities.
Community Content Ownership
By participating within The Safehouse community and forums, the viewer hereby grants us a perpetual, non-exclusive license to posted content for use online, in print, databases, CD, and any and all other media, whether now known or hereafter created.
Copyright Infringement Policy
While The Safehouse Network staff will respect copyrighted materials, we cannot and will not verify all community submitted content. This includes, but is not limited to, text, art, spoilers/walkthroughs, code, and other multimedia. The Safehouse does, however, take plagiarism seriously. If any content appears (or is known) to be misappropriated, please contact The Safehouse moderators (shmods@thesafehouse.org). The offending item will be temporarily removed pending review of The Safehouse administration staff. The content will then be either cited correctly or removed outright depending on the original owner's intent.
