Sig: I dunno, do they have selling stuff similar to the bazaar in EQ1 where people would leave their chars logged on as much as they could in trader mode? That could explain a @#%$ton of hours.
Slyy: I'm too amused by the shift from "I'm definitely going to buy WoW as soon as it comes out" to "I'd never buy WoW, it's full of jerks" in your "find all posts by" to argue. (Err, I actually mean that, like "Isn't it funny how people's opinions change over time" not "Har har you changed your mind har".)
I changed my mind - I was that close though! The closer it got to release, however, I just kept reading things that didn't appeal to me, especially the "feels like more of a Disneyland than an MMORPG" comments.
Oh, and I guess I knew I was being an asshat about the WoW video, sorry all. They are humorous. Someone should post a video of EQ dancing though, just incredible. In fact all the socials are so incredible, no question the most detailed in any game, I'm sure. It almost seems like the fingers of the avatar themselves are moving - and maybe they are. The /flirt animation is about 60 seconds long and in the entire animation, there is not one movement that is repeated. It's like wacthing a striptease when the high elf chicks do it, anyways. Yes, I understand WoW intends not to put that kind of a load on your comp, so I'll back off.
No worries, my appologies too. I'd remembered one other post that was negative and just blurted out that comment to begin with. In retrospect it was clearly overreacting.
Yes, they have a bazaar like system implanted. I assure you, I don't play 80 hours a week. It just remains open a lot. And if it wasn't for the fact that I play other games like CS-Source, I wouldn't have the sig at all.

well i played both betas for 2 weeks each in succession;
Playing in EQ2 Freeport is outright depressing: the drab/slime colors of the walls, the NPCs that outright insult you (and you are forced by game ot cooperate with them::?). Your room is so drab and sad, the shield and helm RUSTY and worn down.
Who needs a depressing fantasy in a game setup? (answer: already sick minds)
The kind of environment you are in reflects onto your mood.
I remember working in South Africa with Germans that were witty, fun and laughing all the time. It's the sunshine, and the colors, and the music
If you prefer a game that you can't run at full settings for another 3 years, you go right ahead and play it. If you prefer being a part of SoE's next disgrace to the genre (and truthfully, to the people playing it), go ahead and play it.
All it took to decide between WoW and EQ2 for me was finding out they paired Christopher Lee (the legend, and voice for Overseer Lucan De`Lere) with Heather @#$%ing Graham for the main voice talent.
