"Me i'm dishonest, and a dishonest man you can always trust to be dishonest, honestly. It's the honest ones you want to watch out for, because you can never predict when they're going to do something incredibly stupid" -- Capt Jack Sparrow
if ever there was a more deserving of pvp nerf spell I have yet to run across it.
just halve the duration is all I ask. by the time this stupid spell wears off the druid who cast it has gated out, ported, medded to full, rebuffed and traveled the 2 zones to whereever they were going in the first place.
just a mild pvp rant, it never gets them a kill (at least on me) and I dont see any reason it should last full duration on players when no pvp fight could ever last that long...well against a melee, in the center of west karana, maybe.
I play a shaman on sullon. ensare never breaks, not talking root here I am talking about the upgraded snare. once that sucker lands I just gate. either that or I watch them run out of spell range.
really just a mild rant one of those things I am working on is mr gear.
If you're a shaman, use that lvl 1 or lvl 5 spell "burst of fire". I used to fight goodies all the time with my druid and I'd get snared by reds and have to gate, but burst of fire or flame or whatever breaks it in 1-3 tries every time. It's alot easier than trying to dispell a red con's ensare.
You shouldn't get snared by even cons with 70+ mr ;p And even if you do, you can pumice it easily.
mr is around 80, I never ever resist that damn spell, I will give the lvl one spell a shot I never heard of breaking it from taking damage. I thought that was for roots only. (esp since the snareing druid usually starts nuking right after)
I dont know if its sullon rules or all rules but debuffers on sullon are stripping random buffs...very anoying when you are a fully buffed up shaman. bah cant wait to get resist magic.
I honestly don't know if it is just skipping buffs that it fails to strip or trying totally random ones. If I wasn't incredibly lazy I'd buff a million buffs up and do some nullify trials. But I'm incredibly lazy.
Direct damage used to remove snare very effectively, one or two casts would do the trick. They changed that not too long ago so that it takes a lot of nuking to remove the snare. Sir Cochise <Sanctus Lumen>
if you are a caster you can get the crappy pottery made rings that have a little nuke on them, I have one on my shaman and use it to break snare all the time.
and post resist nerf no lvl of resists is safe short of bard grade resists. 200+mr depending on buffs and it still lands.
Yes, DDs break snare. For a melee, you can look for various Velious crap that has targeted Velium Shards on it and nuke yourself with it repeatedly. Save the pumice for when you're in danger, or to dispel others.
-X.
I always love the NEWBS who try to say DD's dont break snare in PvP.
DD's dont break snare on MOBS.
DD's DO break snare on players.
I show newbs this trick all the time on SZ. I snare some unsuspecting level 10 guy, they get all indignant, and send me a tell saying "please kill me, I dont wanna sit her for 10 mins".
I send a tell back saying "load up your lowest level DD and hit yourself with it". After some arm-twisting, they finally do (they are suspicious of me of course, : P ). Then, 1 minute later I get tells saying "WOW!!! Learn something new every day!! Thanks man."
It doesnt break very often. I dont use snare much in PVP on my wizard but when I did gank squads and got people tashed/hos'd and it landed, I can't remember one time that DD broke snare. Although usually it was 2-3 nukes only before people were dead. Not saying that DD's dont break snare, just must be kind of hard (unlike root). jagged ice - scamt
