Why didn't I know about Pathfinder?

So...yeah, I'm reading TVTropes, and I'm reading the page for D&D and I find out "Oh, the guys that made Dragon Magazine and Dungeon Magazine that WotC dropped when they went to 4E...they decided to basically keep making 3.5 and called it Pathfinder"

So I get this, and it really is like D&D 3.75. It's like, 3.5 but refined and fleshed out even more. It is to 3.5 what 3.5 was to 3.0. Which is awesome for me because I never liked 4E really.

Also, for the rogues out there, they actually made poisons useful. Like before, Poisons were pretty much useless at high levels due to their low DCs, but now they added a rule where every time a target resists a poison in a combat, the DC increases by two(to represent increasing dosage I guess). So if you've got your two weapons coated with poison with like 5 attacks each you can stand a really good chance of being able to get that poison to stick eventually.

You know, they even offered the beta version of Pathfinder as a free download for months!
I'm subscribed to the Paizo newsletter - you should too They inform people about stuff like that pretty well.

But yes, I like Pathfinder, although I have to admit that I didn't have the chance to check out the final version in detail yet.

I know I'm a little late to the game by posting on this threat, but you know how that goes. I am a huge fan of Pathfinder. What they did with the rogue class, giving them access to extra abilities every-other level really makes taking 20 levels desirable.
At any rate, if you haven't seen it yet, they released a lot of their content for free. http://www.d20pfsrd.com/ Enjoy!

Also, they published a really neat book 'The Noble Wild', and gave stats / rules for integrating a talking animal PC with class levels into the world. I am currently playing a Black Panther Ranger / rogue with great success. Getting pounce is just <3. Their prestige classes are also very neat. I suggest looking into War Mount. It gives you a humanoid rider of a certain hd (or you can designate a party member, which I did), and gives them a lot of the benefits of the class you are taking.

Have a good one folks,
-SG

We're just wrapping up "Crypt of the Everflame" which was our introductory venture into Pathfinder, with me as DM. It's been interesting thus far, and I'm looking forward to being a player while another friend DM's the next adventure.
