I know, but the issue is you are comparing apples and a whole farmers market, socially. When you are in a small country where everyone looks and talks and dresses the same, you don't have a lot of violent conflict.

Yet even in areas where culture is fairly homogeneous, like the bible bet, you hear reports of gun attacks in bars over really stupid arguments (I'm sure alcohol plays a big part, but they have spirits in those other countries as well).

I think the real issue is somewhat related to your point, is that we glorify violence, in many ways. Our TV shows are violent. Our movies are violent. Our music is violent (some more than others). Although not confirmed, this guy seems like he's emulating a bad guy.

That, and we do have a history of a very independent attitude, and 'don't tread on me.'
