Help me.. Please?

Well, I am just a great person when it comes to wrecking my characters.

I pick bad skills all the time, and essentially waste all kinds of great chances.

I have a controller, about to hit 16. I just passed through a few levels where things were pretty hard for me. Not really the leveling so much as picking what skills to get when none of my mains (that interest me) are.

I have so far picked:
Block of Ice (6 Slotted)
Frostbite
Arctic Air
Ice Slick
Personal Force Field
Deflection Shield (6 Slotted)
Maneuvers (Eventually will be 6 slotted)
Assault
Tactics. (debating on slots)

Anyhow, now I am pretty much set until 22, when the next real choice forme opens. As you can see, I have absolutely no travel powers, which aside from being slow to arrive on the scene, doesn't bother me much.

Anyhow, I am wondering what anyone thinks I should invest in at 22.

The entire goal of the character is to be bassed on helping the team as much as possible, without being concerned at all on how I help myself.

Skills I have been thinking about getting and why are:

Teleport: I feel kind of guilty leeching TPs off others, or making the group wait for me when they are all already on site.

Swift: Although this won't help much by itself, I could eventually take stamina with it, which may help with the 3 leadership skills I have running at once just about constantly.

Really, that is about all I have thought of. Hasten sounded good, but as I looked at my skills, I realized that it would be just about worthless to me. I am never really in a spot where I am waiting for something to finish recharging.

Any suggestions on a good pool power for someone that will never solo?

Few Random Things. Btw, the controller forum has alot of good info you just have to scan from way back.

Get a travel power. PFF will save your ass but it can only do so much. In places like Dark Astoria, Bricks Town, Terra Volta you need a travel power unless you like debt. I really hate the eq mindset of "sow/port plz". I will avoid a mini rant and just say that Lemon ****ing sucks with TP abuse. Just don't expect a TP or the group to wait for you.

D shield is nice, a little to nice actually. Enjoy life as a buff bitch. =)
I skipped both of the mini sheield powers and rely on the big D bubble. Your way is more effective when both shields are cast, so it should work better later.

Any reason why you aren't using the hero planner?

A couple of your current and future powers overlap and since you already have committed 6 slots.....you are kinda ****ing yourself there.
What are your future powers? Looks like you will have a few toggle powers and are looking into getting more, have you thought about your endurance? The fitness line could help solve your travel powers and give you the endurance you need to run your powers.

You will be skipping quite a few of the useless force field powers but that just benefits your build. Basically, the rest of the FF powers are useless except for the big D bubble and the big repulsion field.

Avoid six slots on pool powers, you have primay powers that have much more potential to help your group.

Hey hey hey, it's not "abuse," it's "teleporting people for my own person enjoyment... and keeping them with the rest of the group because I'm an impatient bastard with recall friend... bitch."

I have nothing else to say, as controllers are not my thing... *cough*

They called me their hero, The Hero of Man. But why should we save them
when they stand for nothing? If they deserve life, LET THEM STAND FOR THEMSELVES.
We've given everything we can. There are no heroes left in man.
They'll watch you die to save their lives. They will not stand here by your side.

If groups don't want to wait, that is their choice. I have friends that will, and enjoy the bonuses I give all around anyhow. I hate making people wait, and I don't enjoy leeching off other people with "TP me plz, kthxla".

At the same time I want to be as much of a benefit to the group as I can when the action starts. You just gave me two really different answers in the same response.

Take TP, directly followed by Take Stamina. Which is basically the question I was asking. With stamina, I should be clear on running all of my toggle powers. But with TP I won't leech off others.

I do use the hero planner, but it hasn't helped me from making bad choices on my scrapper, so figured it would be wise to ask people I trust, which would be you guys and not the mongoloid army which inhabit the public CoH boards.

As for doubling up, I only see one repeat power in my entire set, which is Block of Ice, which eventually gets upgraded with Glacier. In my opinion, it still holds it's own use, as Glacier is sure to miss sometimes, and I would prefer to put a heavier lock on a boss. (They usually take 2 casts to Ice)

The ice slick is different from the next tiered one, which frees them when they are hit. I will likely use them both.

My bubble has done great at protecting me thus far, save when I drop it foolishly and get squished.

The double bubbling will be fun, and I am looking forward to all my higher level skills.

I think I will probably just go with stamina I guess.

Thanks for the help to those that answered.

Ah, nevermind I see the confusion. Yea, basically take a travel power and fitness. The fitness line doesn't offer enough umph to replace the true travel powers.

Is manuever or tatics the defense one?
I have another complete rant about people wasting 6 slots on pool powers, but thats for another day.

I will assume the one you want to 6 slot is the increase damage one. With the level nerf and the massive amount of damage that players already do, the defense one should have more benefit.

With the big d bubble, stuff within 3 levels can't really mess with you. With the d bubble and the d shield, people are untouchable. 6 slots on d shield seems like a waste. 3 more slots in ice slick so a mob doesnt get up and hit works better than a 3.33% increase on defense.

What power is your AOE hold? If you don't have it yet I would get it pronto.
