This video was posted on the CoH boards. Tisirin (community relations manager) said: "That video was made with early prototype cape technology / graphics tools that we never expected to go public with. " and later, "I would really rather people not post that link in any case, as it may confuse some folks into thinking that that is what capes and such will look like in CoH, when that is not the case."

I'm just posting that for Cryptic's sake.

It seemed to flow pretty nicely from that video.

Too bad my character isn't the type who would wear a cape.

I'd like to see the cape engine on a trenchcoat/skirt/dress, or an insert/flap that would connect from the elbow or wrist to the waist (kind of like some iterations of Spiderman where he has the underarm webbing).

They *are* going to do capes. Once they have it right, they'll be able to do braids, hair, sleeves, skirts, trenchcoats, and long belts.
That's a quote from NCSoft... so no worries Ruccus

Yeah, I remember seeing that quote around; I'm interested in seeing how Nightprowl would look in a trenchcoat when doing one of her kicks or jumps.

Maybe they could even try out the cape engine on characters' tails - it'd be cool to see Nightprowl's tail flicking around in a fight, and maybe add a little sway to the tail at rest, to show that it's a part of the character's body.

My character wouldn't either. I want something sort of like a coat that ties at the neck and drapes over the shoulders (sort of like what Sherlock Holmes was shown wearing.)

Capes are supposed to come in Update 2 (which is estimated at the end of August) and other stuff after that.

For one of my characters, A Cape would be great, She's already got the classic superhero look down pat.

For Reverend... Not a cape, but some sort of Robe woudl be nice. I'm thinking a full body robe, kind of like a choir robe or soemthing.

Yeah, robes would work for two of my characters.

I'd like to see headbands in there too, just for the cheese factor.

They already have headbands.

EDIT: Yea, personally capes are useless to me. Give me a nice duster or trenchcoat. All of my characters are modern and most modern superheroes don't wear capes anymore. ****, most of mine wear street clothes.

I love how they put a hood in early on...but nothing at all to go with it.

Almost made me cry...

In total agreement on the robes. That'd be perfect for one of my chars.

I haven't been able to find a true headband (like cheesy karate-style, or basketball player-style) in the men's part. I've found them on the female char maker.....maybe I'm not searching hard enough.

Some of the short mens hairstyles do have it. The sorta spikey one definately does. (Not the really spikey one, not sure about that.)

I think my primary looks quite good with a hood. It goes well with the baggy top and pants, but I've seen several other costumes that they fit with. It's all a matter of opinion though.

Ya, but with my char's design, it's hard to be very roguely with a big hood and armor. When I think big hood, I think of really, really loose clothing. The options weren't really baggy enough for my tastes. =-(

The guy was a conversion from a pen & paper RPG. Big black cloak, big hood, moving armor that could mold into whatever he wanted, jewel near chest, etc. I put the hood on that guy (having all but his cloak) and laughed out loud at how bad he looked. Will post a pic at sometime, w/o the hood, maybe one with if I have the infl to kill.

Your guy looks good; I have an RL friend with about the same setup. But the options for big hood seem even more limited than the options for a suit top. IMO it'd prob'ly look better if it was baggier. Haven't seen someone with really tight clothes and a hood. By the time I do, PKing had better be an option. =-)

It's official, now that I think about it....I need a leather jacket (black or brown) and a turtleneck shirt for Leroy.

Yea, I'd love a Leather Jacket similar to the one that Superboy Wears.
