MB help
Reply With Quote   #1

Well it looks like my second box's MB (Biostar M7VIW) is giving up the ghost. Its out of warranty. I will be finalizing its autopsy when I try the 256 stick of RAM from my main system. So far its original 512 PC2100 and 128 MB PC133 have not resulted in anything more than the european police siren.

Assuming the MB is dead, I need some suggestions as to an inexpensive replacement. I would like to keep using PC2100 RAM and my CPU is a Athalon XP 2400. It will need to have integrated audio.

I would love for the MB to allow me to use my old Asus v8200 Pure 64mb Geforce3, the problem with that is is the old style AGP, iirc 3.*v and the boards now only seem to support 1.5v. ***side note: i have always operated under the theory that the stand alone was better than the integrated, if this has changed, I can ebay the card*** Its a real shame that the nforce2 boards i have looked at won't allow me to use that vid card

thanks

Soca
