Today we'll see which varieties of specialty beers people like the best.

My personal favorite is Leinenkugels Red. It is similar to Killians, but is a little lighter on the bitters. I also enjoy the various varieties of Sam Adams beers.

*edit* whoops, hit enter too early.

I currently have Widmer's Hefeweizen on tap. Before that was Strauss' Summer Ale. I'm not sure what will be next, most likely a stout of some kind.

(Guinness would be my first choice, but I have never gotten around to buying the extra hardware required to tap Guinness)

I love, LOVE Blue Moon. It's pretty hard to find sometimes though, before i started moving around 5-6 years ago, only places i ever saw it were in Alaska and back home in Seattle. Now, when i move to Virginia, most markets over here carry it. Woohoo!

I like all white ales though, Thomas Kemper white was my favorite before they closed down the brewery in Poulsbo, WA and stopped making it.

Now, if we're going to talk stouts, there's a brewery on Pike street in Seattle called The Elysian Brewing Company that makes one called Dragontooth. It's an oatmeal stout, and as such is not for the faint-of-heart, or the small-of-stomach. But DAMMMMNN it's yummy. I really need to go back home.

Deffine specialty beer, cause you have several in there that should be far away from a craft-brew label. You also are missing a bunch of the good ones. Wheres dogfish head? Wheres Stone brewing company? Killians, rolling rock, and sam adam's cant really be described as craft breweries at this point where the first two are commercial garbage and sam adams is kind of inbetween a commercial and a craft brew. My vote went out to rogue due to their huge variety of beer styles, originality, and taste. They have also developed their own yeast strand for their beers.

For specialty brew, I basically mean "not American-style light beer." I tried to come up with a term that included all the beers we didn't do in yesterday's poll. Some of them aren't micro or craft brews, so those terms wouldn't work.

For the selections, I chose beers that seem to be around most parts of the country. There are about a thousand local beers that are only available to a small area, so I didn't include any of them, since most of the people voting wouldn't have ever heard of them.

I haven't voted yet, so I can still add selections I think.

I chose Sam Adams only because they have a huge selection of different beers. I've tried a few of Rogue's brews, and can't stand them, especially Dead Man's Ale (or similar name)

My favorite regional brewery is Yeungling, whose brews I've been able to get in PA, NJ, and NY

I REALLY miss my friend's homebrews. He and his wife packed up and moved to Michigan, 16 hour drive away from me now.
