New ForceWare Drivers (June 22nd)

With the release of the GeForce 7800GTX (see my news announcement here), nVidia also release the ForceWare driver version 77.72.

You can download them from nVidia's driver page. The release notes can be found here (in .pdf form).

Anyone else have problems with Windows Media Player 10 and playback of video after installing these drivers? Any .mpg or .wmv files I try to play are totally washed out looking. It's hard to describe, but it's not right. Tried removing drivers and reinstalling with no success. Then removed again and reinstalled 71.89 and the problem disappeared.

If you mean that the colors seem extra bright, for instance, then yes, I'm having the same problem. I didn't even consider the drivers may be doing it, but that's good to know. For the record, Media Player Classic doesn't have that problem, although that doesn't help for streaming stuff that uses WMP.

I am also getting the same too-bright, washed out effect on any DVD program that I try to use with the drivers. Does anyone have a direct link to the 71.89 driver?

Thanks

Go to control panel >> display >> Settings >> Adanced >> GeForce >> Color Correction.

Click Restore Defaults and save as a new color profile. It has to do withe the gamma correction slider not working correctly. It will slide to MAX or to 50%

By restoring defaults it will set it to 100%.
