If you take out the killings, Washington D.C. actually has a very low crime rate. -Marion Barry

My advice to you is to switch phone companies if you can, if you have the same thing going on that I do where you live, we have 3 companies fighting over people, and they offer free first month or two. You could switch, and have your phone turned on so employers could call you, then you can pay it after you get hired.

The true power of not testing your patches. (see sig)
*P.S. Yes, "plentiful" is spelled wrong :(, it's a sig I made years ago, somewhat special to me, so I didn't fix it*

In the Seattle area there is only one phone provider per area.

The only other possible option is the cable-line based phone, if it's available.

Have them call a friend number or neighbor you trust. Ask if they can say you're not here right now but can get back to you shortly. Then you just check in with your friend every once in awhile.

i use a cell phone as my only phone line. and i despise verizon. most of the confusion happened when i moved to seattle - as they give you a whole new account number when switching to a new number, so i was alternatly getting bills that said i owed 60-120 bucks, and bills that came with a 40 dollar rebate check that said i owed nothing.

horrible confusing mess, and the account number was different on these bills but only by 1 digit - so i didn't figure it out untill last night.

bastards and their confuso-tactics
