Story time! Today's story is: Why Sony Sucks!

Customer buys Sony Vaio. Hard drive explodes. (You can hear the head scrapping the platters, yummy)

So I install a new hard drive and load Windows. Time to download the drivers for the mobo and stuff. Ahh, here they are. Wait...where's my Video and Audio drivers? They aren't here!

*joins live chat with Sony tech guy*

What's that you say? Follow this link? Ok!

WTF? Buy a recovery DVD just for my 2 drivers...for $15 plus S/H??

**** suckers. That's what Sony is. Now I have this computer sitting here and the guy is screwed until the recovery DVD gets here. Sony sucks large hairy ****.

They could have included a recovery DVD instead it is a utility on the HDD to create one yourself, the customer isn't exactly that savvy and did not. HDD goes boom so now I can't make it for them. They could have put the drivers on the web page, and they are there, except for audio and video.

**** you Sony. **** you in the ass with a foot long studded rubber ****.

I believe shortly after your first boot up you were prompted to make the recovery cd/dvd

google it:

Often times there are websites that will keep drivers that even the companies don't keep standard. I've dealt with this a bit. Mind giving me the model names of the parts you're looking for? I'll do a bit of searchin' when I get a spare moment.

Yup, standard Sony policy is to make the customer make their own backup disks. Now I know Bruce the Accountant got a "Attaboy" for saving the company a bazzillion down the road, but maybe since 95% of the folks who buy Sony computers don't make the disks, and Sony tech support then has to spend time with them, maybe it wasn't such a good idea down the road.

Looks around and you should be able to get all the essential drivers you need, it's the sony specific crap your're gonna be stuck without. Most of it's garbage anyway.
