OK these look OK and everything... kinda girly and fragile but OK.
Now my question is this:
If SoE decided to NOT give us new AAs and the new Lev 75 Cap... will this Pony be USEFUl? By useful, I mean run as fast as the 100K horse. If it does then SoE may have done the right thing and given us something of use in this $30 patch. If not, and it doesnt even run at SoW speed (Like the Pigbot) then SoE has once again bent their collective client base over the table and not even had the common decency to give a reach-around.
C'mon SoE... Do the right thing and make this horse worth having.
Unfortunately, as I've found out, horses are pretty much useless for rogues anyway - can't sneak/hide while mounted. Only use is for getting across large zones where you won't get pounded to a pulp if you go without SoS
World of Warcraft: Delissandra - Blood Elf Rogue (retired) - Feathermoon
EverQuest: Delissandra Splitshadow - 75 Rogue (retired) - The Rathe
City of Heroes: Splitshadow - Scrapper (retired) - Victory

Yes we can.... shoot me a /tell tonight I 'll tell you how to do it
I am not going to post it here cuz I know it'd get changed tomorrow morning as an emergency patch cuz letting rogues SOS on a horse is a totally game breaking ability even when we cant Backstab while on a horse.
EDIT Whoops... forgot to tell you that I play on the saryrn server
You press sneak/hide on the abilities buttons themselves while casting. Only works from abilities though as hotkeys are disabled during casting. No particular reason to act like its a secret.
It's free? why complain? I think it's smart becasue it will cut down on those RL plat buyers that want a pony but not the time to farm plat for it themselves.
I'll use the war horse on 1 of my casters.
However, the robo-boar makes me laugh. I tried the boar on my cleric. It was just plain annoying! But then again, I find dmf annoying as well.
I just heard from someone who heard it from someone etc... so dont that this as fact... that the Storebought reward is like an evolving item that caps out at SK/Pally summoned horse.
If this is true... big Kudos to SoE... a brilliant Idea.
what is the reasoning behind rewarding people that buy in stores over the people that download? it seems to me that if ANY reward is given out, it should go to those that preorder.
Just to make sure they can keep the stores in the loop on the cash cow so they will be more inclined to keep carrying all of Sony's crap...err games and such. Otherwise there would be no reason for anyone to go out and buy it, we would all DL it.
Take the stores out of the loop, and it would hurt Sony in the long run on sells of other things. Heh that's my take on the matter anyway. Who know's their true reasoning though.

What a great idea....
Imagine if each evolving level, not only was faster, but the horse had more armor. That would rock.

wonder how it's gonna evolve, if true. Not during combat, I would hope...wouldn't matter for casters, but for melee that would be silly.
Unless it evolves into a talking cleric horse that follows me around telling me I'm great and healing me, I'll still consider it just another bank slot occupier. It'd make far more sense to give rogues the faster run aa's that bard/monks got.
It'd make far more sense to give rogues the faster run aa's that bard/monks got.
Bards are the masters of speed, it makes sense that they should have increased run speed.
Monks are the masters mind-over-body/matter, it makes sense they should have increased run speed.
Rogues are the masters of stealth, moving at an increased speed does not increase stealth, it reduces stealth.
As for the horse, it'd be cool.. better than the silly boar mount. I've never had a horse, never needed one obviously, so this would save me the pp to have a spiffy little horse. Hi-Yo Silver!
Lol, nope But I DO hunt. I can tell you if I went hauling balls through the woods, even stealthly, with a rifle then I'd scare the **** out of everything in a 1/2 mile radius
We aren't talking real life here Gwen. It's high fantasy. As a matter of fact, speed is necessary in some instances to get by someone.... He looks the other way and you sprint across some open ground before he looks back.

exactly, your a hunter, we are rogues, completely different. you hunt animals with loud long range weapons while moving slowly, rogues move in complete silence at far above normal human speed to assassinate there target and anyone near by with speed and efficiency and quickly get out of there so nobody else sees you and what happened. all done in silence but for a few quiet screams.
There are some raid mobs which having a mount can make much easier.
Plus a Selo speed panther would be cool for traveling across zones.
EQ needs more customization. A mount that is specific to each class would be a cool thing if developed correctly. Imagine if your mount evolved and gained speed with each level as you navigated more zones in the game.
Stratics developer chat post on POR said that war house will not be as fast as 100k horse but you will be allowed to turn in your 100k bridle to someone and make your horse that fast.

Thought they were jack of all trades, masters of none?
Actually if anything they are masters of song. And they get this nifty lil song called Selos that lets them run super fast. If they want faster than everybody else...let them ask for a higher Selo's. It's no excuse to keep rogues from having a faster AA run than we currently have.

you should really watch kenshin's ova's =-) <3
This is exactly the envisionment I have about being a rogue. Sony needs to start incorporating abilities which are in-line with this. .... sneaky bastages who will kill you just to try and get a new high backstab ....
I really like my horse, especially in the TSS zones, you have to cross so many zones just to get where you are going.
In a recent patch they fixed/broke/reinstated the hide/sneak on horse again where you can use your regular hotkeys, you dont even have to use the ones from the actions menu. Just start casting and immediately hit sneak and hide.
Same thing works for any clicky, if you're in a dangerous area and need to lev or drink a healing potion or something, click, immediately hotkey sneak and hide (spell is still casting while you hotkey if its not instant) and they likely wont see you, I do it all the time and it even works in agro range of mobs, just have to be quick.

/shrug I'm happy without a horse. I believe the expression is "hurry up and wait" which is exactly what I'd be doing if I had a horse. I'm always the first one in group to get to ashegate or FC (if I had a reason to go to FC) any way, so whats the hurry.

I was fine without a horse too, until I goe one. Im always the first to arrive as well, even when running my shammy bot there too, but the extra time is good for cookies and milk, or chips and dip!
I was so angry that i couldn't get SoS on my horse!
I like my horse and I hate the long ways in TSS. Even with RS5 you are slow without a mount.
now I know the trick and it's great :D
For some reason you can't backstab while on a horse. I was running somewhere when one of the group members got aggro. I stayed on my mount to help kill the mob and got a message saying I couldn't do that while on a mount. You'd almost never want to do this, of course. Just an interesting side effect.
If they decide to steal our horsey stealth away again, there is always this nifty Tiny Cloak of Darkest Night to fall back on.
Unfortunately the name of the clicky effect is a lie. It is not really Shroud of Stealth as we have come to know it. It is, however, real rog hide pre-SoS, so you are hidden to live and undead, just not see invis mobs. Decent for traveling on horseback.

Hrmm, too bad it is not a real SoS as I am only level 55, that cloak would rule as I have been away from game for a while.

But in either case, not you made me put another clicky on my farm list... darn you
