HR folks - Salary Studies?
Reply With Quote   #1

Does anyone know a good resource for salary surveys besides paying Milliman $400? I'm just after a study for personal use in an upcoming negotiation. I want this job to work, but it would require relocation and I don't know the market where I'm looking (Portland).

Anyone have any recommendations on where to get the information? This is in the financial industry.

No, but no matter how many times I read it, I can't get my mind to accept that the word you typed is salary, instead of slavery.

Odd how that works out...

With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

I recently found this on a site: http://www.bls.gov/oco/

It's the U.S. Department of Labor and it has an A-Z listing of occupations. Inside each occupation it'll list:

* the training and education needed
* earnings
* expected job prospects
* what workers do on the job
* working conditions

It's not region specific though.

Thank you, chromite. I do need something region-specific. The BLS also doesn't cover many jobs in my industry in anything more than incredibly broad categories.

If it helps, I would like to reassure you that I am not starting a sweatshop!
