Anyone else experiencing rogues coming back to EQ to raid? Now if only weapons dropped more. Granted not all are fulltime but its still nice to see them!

That could be fun! We mostly ever had rangers and clerics, a big night for rogues would be 4.

I'm glad my guild has only 1 other active rogue besides me (and that one is a bot) as its a lot harder for the other folks in guild to tell how bad I suck. And besides, having to many rogues in one location is dangerous as there's never enough room for all the egos.

We're down to just me now in raids. Plenty of people have rogue alts they scurry around on after raids though.

Luckily, we have zerkers, monks, and rangers to do melee dps. They outparse me anyways, since I only have all the AAs, and capped accuracy and so on.

And, with only one rogue, nobody worries about mob positioning anymore. Furthermore, given the recent backstab nerf, heck, no reason to waste a slot in a dps group on me either.

I'm going to go eat some worms.

You just suck that's all, if monks and rangers out parse you. No offense, you understand. Go cry a river.

Posts like this disgust me. ;p

Hey guys be nice. Seriously, rogues that feel they can not perform on trash need to learn how to strafe better, your just being lazy if you can't be effective. AA's also help big time with this though. Tanks that are too lazy to care about positioning should be releaved from tanking, they are hindering all classes.

The problem is, we don't really kill trash mobs, we play Pong with them.

No matter the push, as long as nobody is screwing around with stuns, its not that hard to stay reletively behind mobs. It just takes tons of effort, and if your guild is THAT bad at pushing (my guild is mostly melee dps so I dont see how it could be worse) then thats a problem you should address.

On an event where our entire goal is to push mobs from a CC camp to a wall, I still manage to do fine DPS. However, I'm sure my fingers will cramp up eventually. You shouldn't be running behind a mob hoping to hit it, get ahead of it a bit you can tell where its being pushed too.

And all the time I am moving to do that, the monks, zerkers, and rangers are scoring hits. So they maintain their dps, and mine suffers relatively. As to why the guild doesn't address it, well, as I mentioned above, I'm the only active rogue, so there's little motivation, only the rogue dps gets borked up by this, mostly.

I'd take kind Senzi up on his offer, if only his guild would raid Euro-time :-)

Mob positioning is standard good raiding procedure. It should always be practiced and DPS will improve if you do...not just yours as a rogue, but everyones.

Monk's, Bst, Zerkers everywhere though.

I disagree with this,

I came back to EQ because everything else on the market failed to provide as much long term enjoyment. I am seeing ALOT of old players coming back as well, seems I am not the only one.

consider: not just the pull of EQ relative to other pseudo-realities, but the pull of opportunities in RL. The government is paying people to go to school, for example. EQ will not be able to attract new players, and that is why its pulse will continue to diminish and die. But go ahead and circle the wagons anyway!

You say this as if it's new. EQ has been slowing down and you would have to be blind not to see it. But I think (and I'm sure others feel this way) EQ is not dead and will be some time before there is one server that house players that refuse to quit.

Who cares that there are government scholarships for schools

2. the business-minded people that go to school to design weaponry for the troops, or video games for the population base
3. people that are willing to invest in the quality of their mind rather than leeching off of others.

reamas said:

Incorrect. If you consider the current moratorium on brains in our country and the demand now and in the future for homegrown scientists and medical professionals (and why that is), you should come to understand the reason behind massive government initiatives to get Americans back into school (National Science Foundation for example). The concern among people in the know is high.

What you should know by your own observation is that it is connected to the technology that enables millions of Americans to plug into MMPORG's instead of pursuing higher education because the illusion of progress comes easier (and cheaper -- but only in the short term). You should also know that the cost of not getting an education is greater than the cost of getting one; you would be wise to be one of the people that takes charge of your own future rather than having it decided for you (go ahead and read that again).

Lastly: whatever fiber you possess that made you roll a rogue in the pseudo-reality that is eq should also enable you appreciate a quote from a real rogue, someone who has been there, done that, and had the firmness of conviction to seek the truth behind his reality.

You are suggesting that the main purpose of EQ is to evade the consequences of reality, and that the "joy of sport" is subjugated to that need. I'm inclined to agree.

My guild has 4-6 active rogues, 4 active monks, and 2 active berserkers. So my only complaint is that when I log in to raid PST all the uber DPS groups are full and I get shlepped with the Beastlords and Rangers :P

It is fun trying to outparse eachother all the time though!

Please tell me which of these you disagree with and then decide who needs help in the history of education in this country.

No, you said that scholarships have been around forever (quoted, can't deny it), and are incorrect in that statement until you utilize your spindoctor talents and try to say that you were saying something else and everyone misunderstands you.

I agreed with you on the lack of impact on gaming, if you would take the defensive chip off your shoulder you might see that.
