Everything is fine from a perspective of my personal life. Its just had become fiscally irresponsible to continue to pay over $400 a month to support the server for the Safehouse and GU with zero income come back in.
I simply made the decision to stop doing so. Another solution has been found.

I ran out of souls to feed the servers, we are now having to purchase souls from a third party vendor. It is expensive, Aidden found a server that requires less souls to power it, so I might still be able to keep up.

Taking donations from the members is the first step to them thinking they have a say in what goes on. That's the kind of thinking that keeps Aidden cranky.

I've always wondered why we haven't had a donation system going on since the ezboard days. There's my answer. I'd think setting it up again would be good. But that's just me.
Regardless, I'll donate to woody since it apparently supports us. I don't read woody so I don't have any reason to donate to him.
Just to clarify, Woody's taking over the hosting bills and is now responsible for keeping the lights on so to speak. We've all just overextended Aidden's generosity. Trust us, the staff were just as surprised at the cost of doing roguely business. Woody's going to have a go at it for awhile so any money donated to him indirectly keeps this place going.

Do you know the difference percentage wise in badwidth The Safehouse takes up versus /gu (is it even still called that?) I'd just assume Woody's probably takes up more space now. It seems it's grown quite a bit, and seems like The Safehouse shrunk quite a bit after WoW crushed EQ, and there wasn't as much reason for a lot of people to come here, since EQ info, slowed down a lot.
I welcome our new overlord woody! Finally free from the shackles of aiddens wrath! I shall donate the sum of one months server fees to have aidden banned.
