Stonekeep makes it entirely worth it. Now lets hope they put up some Sam & Max and The Amazing Bean Machine (Or whatever that game was, highly addictive).
Wing Commander series, Monkey Island series, and Grim Fandago. Even the Indiana Jones adventure. Gotta have those.
Fallout 1 & 2 would be awesome tho.
If you love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home and leave us in peace. We don't seek your counsel, we don't seek your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countryman. - Samuel Adams
I think of the list Sacrifice, Giants: Citizen Kabuto, Operation Flashpoint, the MDKs, and the Fallout series interest me. I already own Freespace 2 and Shogo, but I wouldn't have a problem showing my support for this type of game distribution by buying them again.
To make some (realistic) suggestions of possible future downloadable games, I'd mention Psychonauts, Syberia, The Longest Journey (along with its sequel, Dreamfall), and the Homeworld series. I'd love to see the older Star Wars games like the Jedi Knight/X-wing series, but I doubt LucasArts is willing to part with them.
Psychonauts is available on Steam for pretty cheap I believe too. Im really thinking about buying a copy off of Steam because my current copy is on Xbox and I worry that my Xbox will die or something.
I'm curious, how can they sell Freespace 2? The source code for that was released years ago, and the Freespace Source Code Project has a vastly improved version available free of charge.
With regards to Freespace 2, I suspect it may be similar to how companies can package Linux and sell it for a fee. Also while I mentioned I owned Freespace 2, it turns out I was thinking of Starlancer, so I might download Freespace 2 later.
I signed up for the GOG.com beta and today bought my first game to try out the system. It was very simple; I created an account, then to purchase Giants: Citizen Kabuto I clicked on the 'download now' button located right beside the listed price ($5.99), entered my Visa information and the downloads for Giants became available in my "My Games" section. I can download the game itself, the game manual, plus a few extras (artwork, wallpapers, and avatars). It also allows me to rate the game via a 5 star rating system, plus provides links to the GOG forum and support section for Giants: Citizen Kabuto. Also wherever Giants is listed on the website, instead of the link to buy it, it shows a green checkmark and "Own it" so you know you've already bought the game.
To try it out, I transfered the (787mb) download to a memory stick and installed it on my laptop. My laptop is a simple Acer with a Sempron 3500+ and a Radeon Xpress 1200 integrated graphics, running Vista Basic. Aside from the installer taking quite a long time to launch (which is actually noted in the support section I mentioned above), it installed fine and ran fine (plus Giants also supports my laptop's widescreen 1280x800 resolution).
All-in-all I'm pleased with its ease of use and I can definitely see myself buying more games this way (especially if I want a fun game that my laptop's integrated graphics can actually run without choking on the graphics).

So, basically, Interplay's library with a couple additions. Interesting. Definitely some good games in here, but a lot of them are...well, lacking.

Since the initial offering they've added a few games; their complete list (with titles added since release bolded) is below (and here, if you want more info about any of the games listed below). I agree that there are a lot of 'Good Old Games' that aren't on the list, but this is a new service and it will take some time to expand and aquire the rights to some of the more memorable titles of gaming history.

I originally wasn't going to post about GOG's current sale since it's not exactly earth shattering or anything (buy two $10 games and get a $6 game for free), but since this is The Safehouse I figured a couple fantasy games they just released might be of interest (and if they are, you might as well throw in a free game).
The first is Arx Fatalis, a first person style RPG dungeon crawl that uses an unusual magic system, and the second is Disciples II Gold, a 2D strategy game which includes the game's three expansion packs.
Also, on Tuesady (after the sale ends) they'll be releasing Port Royale 2.
I was meaning to buy Toca Race Driver 3 but hadn't gotten around to it, so I took advantage of the sale to also buy Disciples II and Fallouts I and II.
Download Beyond Good and Evil and/or Prince of Persia: Sands of Time for $9.99 each. Both are excellent games that deserve to be in any self-respecting PC gamer's games collection. I just bought BG&E even though I still have the CDs, just to show my support to UbiSoft for releasing these games on GOG.com.
lol, yes I know. When I read a blurb about that from Kotaku I actually went out in search of that cheese but couldn't find any (I'm guessing it's sold in eastern Canada, not western).

I know Shopper's Drug Mart is apparently carrying the line of products. But, yeah, I think it's Eastern Only.
My friend found the "free Beyond Good and Evil" Cheese Strings next to the "Free coupon for 1 dollar off" Cheese Strings. It's really a kick in the face to those developers. A cheesy, cheesy kick.

My guess is that the promo was thought of because Jade is a photographer ("say 'Cheese'!").
But this bump is just to inform Safehousers that GOG.com has hit 100 games (PoP and BG&E were 97 and 98, while Septerra Core was 99 and a free game called Teen Agent was 100), and today Far Cry has become the 101st game on GOG.com.
This was one of my favorite early FPS's, and was definitely under-appreciated.
Tons of maps, weapons, blood, and it really stood out from the other shooters with its obstacles/hazards, jump pads, power ups, weapon selection, etc.
Seriously one of the best 486/Pentium 1 era LAN games ever made.
Man. RoT. I have mixed and painful memories of that game.
And Ghost Master is now a GOG? It's like, newer than most of the games on that list.
Ghost Master is over 5 years old (August 26, 2003), so it's not exactly 'new'.
I think the 'newest' GOG games are IL-2 Sturmovik: 1946 (December 15, 2006), DarkStar One (August 11, 2006), Sensible Soccer 2006 (June 9, 2006), and TOCA Race Driver 3 (February 24, 2006). Those are the only ones I could find that are newer than 2005.
Here's a bit of a bump because of a deal GOG has going on at the moment.
Due to licensing issues TOCA Race Driver 3 will be pulled from GOG on May 29th (those who bought it will still be able to download it from GOG after that date) so this week they're holding a 50% off sale on three racing games.
TOCA Race Driver 3 and 1nsane are $4.99 each, and FlatOut is $2.99. I'd already bought TOCA 3 earlier, but bought FlatOut today. The promotion ends May 25th, 11:59pm EDT.
Eight bucks for TOCA 3 and FlatOut is a great deal (I personally think 1nsane should be a $5.99 game so that's not such a great deal).
Yet another bump from me in this thread, thanks to GOG's One Year Anniversary promo. It's a buy one, get one free deal on Interplay titles. Not sure if it's everything (I can't see games I've already bought, like Fallout 1 and 2, Shogo, and Giants), but it's a good list of at least most of their games.
I've been thinking about getting some more games from GOG but I've already got a backlog of games (on GOG, retail games, and Xbox 360 games) so I'm not sure. I'll probably end up getting a couple $6 games anyway though.
It's bump time once again as arguably one of the best adventure games ever made, The Longest Journey has finally found its way to Good Old Games. This was a first day buy for me, but my backlog of games keeps increasing.
Also, for strategy fans GOG is having a 25% off promotion on three strategy games. For space based strategy fans they have Haegemonia Gold Edition for $7.49, for historic strategy fans they have Celtic Kings for $4.49, and for military strategy fans they have Original War for $4.49. The promotion ends monday night.
Another bump, this time for Good Old Games' Holiday Sale. 171 games (the entire catalogue except for six newer releases) are on sale for between 25% and 40% off their standard price. Sale ends January 3rd.

Sweet!!
I've been thinking of getting something since I can run these from a USB drive without installing them, on a HDD. Makes it nice for playing a game or two at work.
Over the past few days Good Old Games had a front page countdown going but I didn't want to post until it completed so I knew whether it was really post-worthy. Well, it is.
Today Good Old Games announced that they've secured rights to Activision Publishing Inc. games. Today they've released Arcanum and Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers for $5.99 each. Activision Publishing has a huge catalogue of games, so I expect more good old games announced by Good Old Games in their "Month of Activision".
The 'Month of Activision' appears over and done with (although supposedly GOG still has 5 more Activision titles they're working on to be released at a later date). Here are the titles:
omg... I-76. How many countless hours of my life did I spent sitting in front of my 386 cruising the wasteland listening to Taurus' poetry and searching for wreckage to upgrade my weapons with? And I still say that game had the greatest intro theme music ever in a video game.
Today GOG announced a deal with yet another publisher. This time Atari has hooked up with GOG for some retro gaming. The first release is Syberia, a very good adventure game originally released in 2002 (I believe it won several "Adventure Game of the Year" awards that year).
We have recently had to give serious thought to whether we could really keep GOG.com the way it is. We've debated on it for quite some time and, unfortunately, we've decided that GOG.com simply cannot remain in its current form.
We're very grateful for all support we've received from all of you in the past two years. Working on GOG.com was a great adventure for all of us and an unforgettable journey to the past, through the long and wonderful history of PC gaming.
This doesn't mean the idea behind GOG.com is gone forever. We're closing down the service and putting this era behind us as new challenges await.
On a technical note, this week we'll put in place a solution to allow everyone to re-download their games. Stay tuned to this page and follow us on Twitter and Facebook for updates.
It's disappointing to see this happen (I've still got to download some of the games I've bought), though there is mention of this being a (very moronic) publicity stunt (here on the Neogaf forum someone mentioned that a couple days ago the CEO warned the financial forums to ignore what was about to happen at GOG, and on the 23rd there would be an announcement bringing GOG out of beta status).
I can't believe someone would think that it would be a good idea to do something like this so I have severe doubts about this just being an absurd way to drop the beta status (then again I never thought Bioware would be so stupid as to name a SW:TOR class a 'Wizard' either...).
Edit: Kotaku is leaning towards a marketing stunt too.
Update: Good Old Games spokesman Tom Ohle gave this comment to Kotaku: "As the message on the site says, this doesn't mean GOG is gone. We'll have more to share in the coming days."
UPDATE 20.09.2010
First of all, we apologize everyone for the whole situation and closing GOG.com. We do understand the timing for taking down the site caused confusion and many users didn't manage to download all their games. Unfortunately we had to close the service due to business and technical reasons.
At the same time we guarantee that every user who bought any game on GOG.com will be able to download all their games with bonus materials, DRM-free and as many times as they need starting this Thursday.
The official statement from GOG.com's management concerning the ongoing events is planned on Wednesday. If you want to receive further information about GOG.com, please send an email to update_media@gog.com if you're a media representative or to update_users@gog.com if you're a user without a GOG account.
So yeah, it looks like they're updating the service rather than closing it. All-in-all a rather poorly executed update; had they just stated they had to go offline for a few days (and given users a day or two to download anything they thought they'd need during the downtime) it would've been received much better than this cluster****.
"Hi, we are GoG, we dont really like money. So we are going to put out this press release that sounds like we are giving up. We figure Duke Nukem Forever is finally coming out and they could use your money more than us. If you come back to us, we may be here, or not, or maybe...or maybe not"
Yup, it's official; GOG is getting an update. There's a new page and a 4 minute video which arguably makes things worse if you think they're making light of their action by doing the 'monk act' while trying to explain their actions (and truthfully don't bother with the monk video - it's pretty much a waste of time aside from assuring people they won't add DRM and weren't bought by Valve), but more importantly there's a countdown timer and this notice below:
GOG.com said:
First of all we would like to apologize everyone who felt deceived or harmed in any way by us closing down GOG.com without any warning and without giving access to your games. We apologize for that from the bottom of our hearts!
Now it's time we put an end to all the speculations once and for all. It’s true that we decided that we couldn't keep GOG.com the way it was… so we won’t. As you probably know by now, GOG.com is entering its new era with an end of the two-years beta stage and we're launching a brand new GOG.com with new, huge releases.
The new GOG.com will launch at 8.00 a.m. EDT (2 p.m. CET). Later today we'll provide you here with 4 videos where you'll find all needed information about the current events, as well as news on the new GOG.com, the upcoming big releases and the summary of the last two years.
Edit: I forgot to mention that in the second video on the site they flash Baldur's Gate at the 13 second mark, so expect that game to be on the relaunched GOG.
