Edit: Also of note - Square Enix's addition means the early Tomb Raider games should find their way to GOG. Also, while I'm not 100% sure about who currently owns their rights, I think Thief 1, 2, and 3 may be owned by Square Enix now so they may be added to the GOG library in the future as well.
Should go without saying, but Thief 2 is on here now as well.
As an aside to my recent Rant Hall thread, I think GOG should get the PC versions of FF7 and FF8 as well. Thief 1, Thief 2 and Deus Ex are all listed as Square Enix published.

I don't want GOG merging with Valve; the whole purpose of GOG is DRM-free gaming not Steam DRMed gaming.
Fair enough.
Then I want all of GOG's versions of all of GOGs games on Steam as well them.
Oh. I guess TIE-Fighter. This thing still needs that.
I do agree.... and the rest of the series as well. X-Wing and TIE Fighter are without a doubt the finest space combat sims ever produced, games I had many hours of fun in.
I still have my original X-Wing box, and it's even working in DOSBox under Windows 7, but I don't have my own copy of TIE Fighter.
It's weird how this genre has just disappeared. A few weeks ago I've been visiting every hardware and game shop I know of in the area, looking for a decent new joystick (my new PC doesn't have a game port D, to replay some old flying games and maybe try some new ones... didn't find a single one for sale. Not one.

I can name a few you can get off Steam:
SOL: Exodus - picked this one up on sale the other day, haven't played it yet. More arcade-y.
X3: Terran Conflict - this is a dense simulator type of space shooter with trading, economies, factions, etc. Tons of depth.
Evochron Mercenary - probably also a more dense space shooter like X3, but not quite as polished. Only played an hour or so of it.
I actually picked up the X Superbox during the steam sales, it's part of the reason why I was looking for a new joystick. I could get lost in these games for months. I've seen the other 2 games you mentioned and they look interesting. But first I've got to decide which new stick to pick up
I'm pretty happy with this. I love the no DRM part of GoG. And that Legend of Grimrock sounds cool, I haven't played an Eye of the Beholder game in a long time. Between this, Wasteland 2, Baldur's Gate coming out in HD.. it's like all the great games of my past are coming back.
Hint:
If you get the Shadow Dagger from the secret panel in the beginning of the game, the early part of the game will be a LOT easier. However, you pay for it in the long run because you end up skilling up too slowly, resulting in the end game being harder.
Also, the Dwarven Rock Thrower is awesome.
Skating away on the thin ice of a new day.

Steam has the same sale going until Thursday, if you prefer it that way.
Also of note is that the upcoming Alan Wake DLC "American Nightmare" will be released for pre-order on GOG tomorrow and it will be 25% off ($15) for those who buy Alan Wake on GOG. (Steam also has the 25% off deal on the Alan Wake DLC for those buying the original game on Steam).
American Nightmare launches on may 22nd.
I've got Alan Wake in my GOG cart but I'll wait until I find out what GOG's weekend sale will be before pulling the trigger.
Edit: It looks like GOG will sell the American Nightmare DLC for $20 while Steam is selling it for $15, so with the 25% off discount it'll be $3.75 more expensive ($15 vs $11.25) on GOG. I misread the GOG forum - with Steam adding their preorder it appears GOG bumped up theirs and it's selling for $15 normally like at Steam, also with 10% off preorder and another 15% off for owning Alan Wake like Steam.
They're also starting a 17 day summer promo called 'Battle of the Games' where you get to vote on which of the two games listed that day will get the better discount for the 24 hours following the end of the vote.
They're normally $15 each, but as the last day of the Battle of the Games promo Riddick is selling for $6 and Torchlight for $9 for the next 15 hours and 40 minutes after this posting.
For some reason GOG still have Torchlight and Riddick on sale as of this moment, but this post is to mention that GOG has released To The Moon, a 2011 indie game that was very well received by gamers and critics alike.
Edit: Oh yeah, I almost forgot. Until July 11 at 5:59 AM EDT Legend of Grimrock is selling for half off, $7.49.
I've heard it talked about on a couple different podcasts. It sounds depressing as fuuuuuuuck.
Just watching the trailer can almost make you cry lol.
Yeah, definitely not a game to play while drinking. Not sure if I want to pick it up or not, it looks sad, and apparently there isn't much gameplay to it.
Geeze, another promo. I guess GOG is trying to drain people's wallets before the Steam Summer Sale starts. Today they've announced that for the next 24 hours (until July 12 at 6:59 EDT) Alan Wake and Alan Wake's American Nightmare are selling for 66% off ($15.28 for the pair).
I enjoyed Tales of Monkey Island (the first three episodes of the game moreso than the last two, but it was still well worth the price when I bought it for more than the $7 it's selling for at the moment), and I've just used the sale to pick up Back to the Future for $5. They also have the Sam & Max games on sale as well as Wallace and Gromit's Grand Adventures.
While not part of the sale (and not even available at GOG), Telltale Games is also the company behind the Walking Dead game, a game that I have really enjoyed so far (and I'm looking forward to the release of its final episode).
Man, too bad the Walking Dead game isn't a part of it. It's awesome, and I look forward to the last episode. Definitely one of the better games I've played this year.
Just a heads up, the other day I was looking for a game and couldnt find the version I wanted on Steam so I checked out GoG. Thats when I noticed that GoG had cheaper prices than Steam on some things. So always double check people!
