OK, I picked it up.
Out of the 3 NPCs you meet starting out, of course the *one* I wanted to pick wasn't able to be chosen as a henchmen. Are there any more than the first two?

you can get a kobold bard hencman at the begining of the interlude.. hes quite good =D once he gets up to level 10+ he is quite capable, and can cast things like haste on you before a big fight=D They where gona have the paladin chick be a possable hencman but they ran out of time =x acualy the designers sayd they planned for a total of 12...
