I was wondering- what sort of music have you all been listening to as of late? I got a vip grooveshark account and have been trying to sample as much new stuff as I can while my trial lasts (my friend intern'd there a few months ago and had the ability to give out 4 month freebies, which he gave to his friends before his term was over)
To start off, Broken Bells (Lead singer of the Shins working with dangermouse, who has the midas touch imho) has been on loop in my apartment alongside of Beats Antique almost all day. These two bands play exceptionally chill yet pretty involved music, backed by very nice beats. Also, i recently found a band called the Engine Earz Experiment which is really amazing indian dubstep that was featured on bbc.
I generally tend towards rock (most of its incarnations) and mild electronic music, but i'm interested in hearing whatever you all like, genre aside.
Klazz Brothers - No Wiki entry, but its some German brothers and a Cuban band that do Bossa Nova versions of classical music. This stuff was hardly seeded on what.cd so it took longer than normal to get it, worse still I had to get it in FLAC and I dont have the space to be burning on FLAC stuff anymore.
Random Halloween-themed music, along with some songs that aren't quite but will fit in a pinch. Yes, I have strange tastes in music.
I'm also currently trying to decided what Nox Arcana CD's to pick up to play as ambient music for Trick-or-Treater's.
For example:
American McGee's Alice Score - Chris Vrenna
Various Danny Elfman soundtracks
Dead Man's Party - Oingo Boingo

Dracula - Gorillaz
Re: Your Brains - Jonathan Coulton
Creepy Doll - Jonathan Coulton
Threatened - Michael Jackson
Thriller - Michael Jackson
No Good Deed - Cast of Wicked
Magic Dance - David Bowie
The Lady Lee - Hobo Jim
Sweeny Todd Soundtrack
Rocky Horror Picture Show Soundtrack
I'm Going Slightly Mad - Queen
Black Hole Sun - Soundgarden
Abracadabra - Steve Miller
Disneyland Haunted Mansion Holiday Soundtrack
Disneyland's Haunted Mansion Ride-through
Disneyland's Pirates of the Caribbean Float-through
Twilight Zone Tower of Terror Theme
Bury Me Not On the Lone Prairie - William Elliot Whitmore (Red Dead Redemption soundtrack)
LIIT has to be my favorite pandora station so far, in addition to all the other previously mentioned artists, it has healthy sprinklings of the beatles, beruit, the decemberists... etc.
Probably the station I've had the fewest proportional skips on so far.
God, so sorry about the Kings of Leon thing, I wish the Brits had kept them, we never wanted them in the first place.
Listen to just their first 2 albums and try to say this with a straight face.
Unfortunately, their more recent albums don't hold a candle to those first two.
I've been listening to things I don't normally give a chance. Today I'm trying out some French Jazz: Charles Aznavour and the Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra. Its pretty kickass.
"Injijo invented sitting down. " - Ben Franklin, 1785
Teen pop too embarrassing to list and David Guetta for the most part lately -- though Foo Fighters and Darkness have been the only two CDs in my car for a while.
Thanks for linking the Nightwish stuff! Hadn't really been following much and hadn't heard anything with the new singer yet.

Currently watching my niece and nephew for the week, so...
deep inside the jungle where nature's running wild
coming to the rescue is a very special child
talking to the animals and swinging from a vine
this rough and tough adventurer is working all the time
there goes DIEGO, DIEGO, DIEGO, GO DIEGO GO!
Aside from that, I have been listening to old Everlast and Flobots cds that are in my car. (And then you might know what it's like to be able to... ride your bike with no handlebars).
Deflagration - Ungiggity - Jointpaper - Pö - Proctologist - Fantastical - Pandarica WoW - L a s t R i t e s - Firetree Too many to play, too little time to do it.

Life...is like a box of chocolates. A cheap, thoughtless, perfunctory gift that no one ever asks for. Unreturnable because all you get back is another box of chocolates. So, you're stuck with mostly undefinable whipped mint crap, mindlessly wolfed down when there's nothing else to eat while you're watching the game. Sure, once in a while you get a peanut butter cup or an English toffee but it's gone too fast and the taste is fleeting. In the end, you're left with nothing but broken bits filled with hardened jelly and teeth shattering nuts, which if you are desperate enough to eat leaves nothing but an empty box of useless brown paper wrappers.-- Cancer Man.
Buckcherry. I saw these guys with Kiss several months ago and just love their sound. Before then, I had only heard "Lit Up." Been listening to a lot of classic Judas Priest too.
I listen to satellite radio exclusively these days, so I miss most mainstream stuff.
