these are all defensive poisons...there's several more, but these are the 3 most use...
also..for offense
bite of the shissar (or consigned bite of the shissar) is the basic offensive poison. There are others....(vallon's tactic and tallon's tactic are raid poisons used in conjunction with each other...one rogue uses one, another rogue uses the other) ...there's a fire based poison, a cold based poison, but it's mostly bite of the shissar.
you can use one defensive and one offensive at the same time..they are basically buffs. In a group without a healer, you can go bite/sloth...you just have to be careful with your aggro. If the group has a slower and a shaky tank, use quellious trauma/bite
I used to have a good website that had all the recipes and what they all did all on one colorful concise page, but I lost it...
THAT link however is to the Old guild post i originally had it on at Vexilarius Australis (Drinal). When we went through the last Merge many of us transfered to Rathe and joined Terror Australis and that is where the link within that page sends you too now.
HOWEVER. that was when my cleric was my main, and i have since changed mains to my rogue Sadi, and this has created a slight complication regarding my access to editing and updating my tables.
Once you get Misdirection you really shouldn't have any aggro problems even on a weak tank I use Bite and Monks bane alot with a friend and i have very few times i get aggro less her tank drops. Heck my boxed wizard ganks aggro more then i do.

Lucky you! With misdirection and Quellious' Trauma running, I still have aggro problems in a group. Plus, endurance runs out quicker. And yes, I have all of the AA's to reduce aggro and optimize endurance.
Thing with Misdirection is the timing. if i mess up and have agro on myself when i click it, ill keep agro, if i make sure the MT is the mobs target, they dont lose agro. I hardly use quellious anymore.
as for Endurance, Respite is B E A Utiful. with maxxed escape haste, only 2:30 between escapes.. I use respite after every fight if my end is low enough. If its a long fight , end is low, and respite is ready, i will escape, respite, and jump back in for a super end boost in combat.
Thanks for the link and info! My rogue was created in 2000 and was probably last played in like 04 or so.
Quick summary of the current state of poisons....
You can use 2 poisons at a time. One DPS, one Utility.
Both are now proc type poisons with a counter.
The basic DPS poisons are available for sale in POK for less than 2 plat per dose. If you get the rogue armor from level 85 and up, you can clicky summon them. The basic DPS poison lasts for 60 procs or 2 hours.
Utility poisons must be crafted from farmed ingredients. You can slow, snare, debuff attack, and lower agro..and a few other effects. The slow/snare poisons last for 150 procs, but the proc only lasts for like 12 seconds.
Poisons stack into groups of up to 20.
Crafted raid poisons exist but are often more trouble than they are worth.
There is a quest for the item Peerless Pestle, which when equipped gives you +15% to your poison making skill. A must have for the combines.
So, I was using the Messenger's Bane VI in Blackfeather Roost on level 55ish mobs and I couldn't get it to land, at all. Do I have to use level appropriate poisons to get them to land, i.e. Messenger's Bane IX (Req. Level 55) ? Or does Messenger's Bane just get resisted a lot?
Ah, right thanks. Is Allakhazam's the best place to research where poison components drop?
All herbs for rogue utility poisons drop from plants or humanoid rogues. All venoms for all/all drop from spiders, scorpions, and snakes. Pick mobs of those type in the level range you want, and that's it. Or you can use magelo's search, find mobs with realistic drop percentages, and go from there. Just ignore all the 100% drop rate (1 of 1 observed loot) and 0% (0 of 1 observed) data, the middle ground is more accurate.
