So far, it's just not my week...

Sunday I was attacked by a swarm of small wasps that did not like me piling brush next to their - got my fat ass out of there fast enough that I only suffered 2 stings to the leg. The stings burned like hell when it happened, now just itchy. Heck of a way to find out that I'm not allergic, right?

Then Wednesday night I had to have an infected sebaceous cyst removed from my neck at the emergency room. Thankfully I was home in 2 hours with my antibiotics and painkillers (thanks to Walgreens for having pharmacy open at 8:30 PM!) and a 1 cm incision. Time will tell if it ends up being a new scar to add to my "lost a knife fight to a surgeon" collection. Hopefully will not be too red ugly for the wedding I need to go to on the 13th.

Glad to hear you are not allergic.

Just tell people the neck incision was a vampire hickey.

You know this post reminded me that I have a couple of sub cyst's that I should get looked at. I have ignored them for the better part of 8 years, I suspect the odds are going to catch up to me if I continue to do so.

That said..I hate wasps. That is the lone insect that I really hate. Man those things hurt and not to mention they are just bloody mean.

Eek! So sorry to hear about that, but glad that you made it out without really bad consequences.

It reminds me of when Craig Ferguson (as Bing Hitler) talked about wasps in comparison to bees (who are only supposed to attack you if you annoyed them.) 'Wasps are bastards! They'll attack you even if you DON'T annoy them!'

Depending on where the neck wound is, you could possibly wear a choker or other type of big necklace/scarf?

You usually don't find out you are allergic until the second sting; however, I don't this two in a row count.

It's about halfway between my hairline and my shoulder. Might ask them to put a butterfly on it when I go for my wound check tonight. My boyfriend took a picture of it last night when he changed my dressing. Gross.

I have had bee and hornet stings before, at about 6 yrs and 14 yrs of age.

You might be able to get a nice little lightweight scarf (not a big, woolen thing for winter time, but more like a silk/polyester ornamental-type) that you could just lightly drape over it if it doesn't heal up in time (or you might even have one hanging about!) it would also protect it against anything getting into the wound as well.

Depending on how fast you heal, a butterfly could probably close it up by then, so it might be a good idea.

As for the picture...heh, y'gotta love guys.

Hope all heals well & soon and that you have a great time at the wedding!
