there are more hitting then tanking and castering, but with kei its not problem casting. but i would say that most the time your hitting side by side with your pet.

If you plan to solo alot go with WIS. BL's are IMO the most mana dependant hybrid class out there. Plus as you get on in levels you'll get spells to augment STR/STA/DEX/AGI... but no WIS buffs.
I did WIS on my Troll BL and I havnt regretted it one bit. Phear mah gator! Ghoste Blanc

I did half wis, half sta on a barbarian BL.. but just to let ya know, its probably better to go all out on wisdom.
For one, most BL races are large and naturally have a higher STA to begin with. In addition, you get STA buffs plus your pure HP buffs. I would aggree with the above post; BLs seem to be extremely mana dependant. Your pet does the majority of the damage, while you have to constantly be keeping buffs up on both you and your pet, slowing, using your damage spells, and healing.
I went with 20pts to WIS on my troll beastie. Worked out quite well for his solo life. Tends to be a bit more of a melee BL then a pet cleric, especially since he's only at 110wis right now. But even without KEI (never have gotten it, even before the 'nerf'/fix) I rarely had a problem with mana usage, unless I was trying to spam heal myself for whatever reason.
He's only up to L35 now, so I guess the mana usage has plenty chance to ramp up in the later levels, so we'll see...
Quiet honestly if I had to do over again I would dump my starting points into AGI. It's the one stat we can't buff solo by ourselves.
At lvl 65, it's the only melee stat I can't buff above 220 (I actually come close to capping out my stats solo).
Wisdom is nice, but the cost of the spells vs the amount of mana you spend vs the cost of +wisdom items just doesn't make it worthwhile in the long-run.
Well, I would always suggest max sta and forget wisdom. It's not how Big your mana pool is, its how fast it regins. Unless you plan on going OOM every fight and need that huge mana pool each time you fight, then you probably want the HP. Also, Wis is a lot easier to raise than stamina also. Huge mana pools come into play when you are on raids and have to constantly spam comp heal to keep a MT alive. With those raids, when you are OOM the raid is over so you needed all the juice. I don't think that BL are going to fall in that category.
I'm one of those types that threw points into a bit of everything. I did put 10 points into WIS since I was planning on giving my BST my monk's old hand-me-downs (that don't have much WIS on them), 5 points into STA and 5 points into AGI (since on all my toons, ironically enough AGI seems annoying to raise if you don't have a chanter casting SoV on you).
I don't go for that STA is the god of all stats philosophy that a lot of folks seem to think. Sometimes it's overkill with the right gear. Monk and Tank armor seems to always have a point or two of STA on it, so if you decide to use typical monk armor for your BST, you won't be that far behind in STA. With self-buffs or shammy buffs, your STA will cap out easily anyways without you even noticing.
That setup seemed to work fine for me. My BST can tank fine if he needs to, or can stand back and drop slows, dots and pet heals out like they're candy without too many oom issues.
I supose it all depends but I myself being a 65 Beastlord have noticed mana is important at my level where as stam is always maxed out. I put my points into wis for the more mana I have the more and can add dots + dd. At high end game stam is simple to max out with your own self beast buffs. And with my primal the rest of my stats are easily maxed. So wis is the best choice in the long run.
