"This is a website that originated because of an online fantasy game. What the hell makes you think anyone here knows anything about women?" - Boddi The Ranger
With the launch of Sullon Zek, my Guild has decided to go there and make war upon the world.
We will be Gnomes. We will be Evil.
This, however, is proving to be quite challenging. It is a completely new server and although several of us have backgrounds on other EQ PvP servers, most of us know little of Ak'Anon and it immediate surroundings.
I would like to ask you, as experts on the rogue class, to share tips and pointers for the fledgling Gnome Rogue on a server yet to be ruined by deflation.
For example, are there low level piercing items, such as Giant Snakefangs or similar on Faydwer?
What places are particularly good to hunt for money/xp?
Are there Quests yielding Containers/Bags near Ak'Anon that a Evil Gnome have access to?
I hope some of you will take time to look this over and perhaps share your experiences from way back when.
Well, starting evil at Ak'anon basically disqualifies you for most of the quests there. You can do the Bullsmasher quest with bad faction, but while it's a great weapon(6/20 Str+2 Agi+2 Dex+2) it's not rogue usable. /mutter
There's a quest you ccan do off the bat to get a 10 slot container(Go to Fodin, a gnome outside Ak'anon in a hut and say Larkon sent me) that holds small items, but being evil disqualifies us.
There's also the Bootstrutter quest(5th-8th lvl) where you can earn a 10slot 10%weight reduction pack, but alas, not for evils. If you want to go through the trouble to raise your faction for the good gnomes, do the Scrap Metal quest(Get 4 pieces of Scrap metal from rogue clockworks and give all four to Sanfyrd down by the Mines o'Malfunction) and fight minotaurs.
Once you get around 5th, you may want to head over to Kaladim and do the Scarab helm quest(kill lil scarabs and get 2 carapaces, give them and 5 gold to Vacto Molunel at the warrior's guild there. Be sure to sneak/hide as being evil makes us threatening to the dwarf guards. Once you can get a Pristine Scarab Carapace(drops off Giant Scarabs in BB and Death Beetles in Unrest) go back to Vacto and give him that and 23 gold and you'll get a Scarab Breastplate (AC 14 Str +1, Sta +1, Dex -1, which is nice until we can get some Dwarven Ringmail Tunics around.
Some of the nicest cash we can get is in Crushbone, but due to the proximity of the Elves, it's going to be ruled by goodies. If you can get in there without being nailed, the Crushbone belt quest is damned good.(Turn belts in to Canlo Nusback in Warrior guild basement in kaladim) not to mention the Bone chip quest.(turn 4 bone chips in to Gunlock Jure in Paladin in Kaladim) Both quest yield coin, weapons, and the occasional patchwork armor. Bone chip quest is good exp until 5-6. Cbone belt quest is good exp til 12th.
Whew, that's all the info I can think of atm. Good luck.

Actually, doing the bone chip quest as an evil character would be VERY bad.
As an evil character you can extort the necros and make a killing. There will be more necros than any other class most likely, and they love those silly pets, being that is what keeps them alive and stuff.
