I know this has probably already been asked before. But would it be possible for a let's say 47 rogue to hide/sneak his way to the book of souls in the new hate? Completely being up there by himself.
It used to be so easy back when Cazic Thule mid-30's zone. Just go camp one of those insta cast gate potions, and then have a wizard port you up to PoH, SoWed and naked.
I remember when I went up, the zombie on the second floor spotted me thru hide/sneak before I got to the book. But having an insta cast gate potion made it easy to run and grab it and gate before the zombie tore me to pieces.
Access to cazic thule gate potions isnt exactly easy anymore since they dont drop... but to this day, i still find them for sale occationally. If you can get your hands on one, you could probably pull it off solo. I'd recomend getting 51 before attempting it though.. you start sneaking faster in your 50s.

It is technically possible to do this alone. Have a wizard port you into hate and gate out GO NEKID so you only lose xp if things go wrong. Hit hide/sneak and con every single mob you encounter. I was able to hide/sneak my way to getting 2 Books of Souls while my raid party occupied another area of the zone. In my experience Haunted Chests have a 50/50 chance of seeing invis, Banshees/ghasts almost always could see me and the Golems I would say had a 60/40 ratio of seeing me invis. The mobs in the new Hate have a relativley small agro range which helped me get past those mobs that could see me but make absolutely sure you stay away from the walls at all costs, mobs can agro through walls but you can't con them to see if they see you or not. Make sure you have some form of gate potion to get out and you will have the book.
Yea I was def. planning ong leaving the old equipment in the bank just in case. And yea def have a gate potion =) preferably instant casting. Is there anywhere with a map of the new hate though? Everyplace i look still has old hate maps.
get to the front of the huge building(the one with hand of maestro and maestro), stand on the steps then put your back to the door. you'll be looking at a small building, go in the small building and turn right, its on the dresser thingy. Edited by: optimispriime at: 7/27/03 2:29 am
So.. after the changes you'd think it'd be harder. I think it is a bit but I know a rogue who went in and did it just fine even without SoS. Just becareful about running into things that see through and con stuff. It may take time but better safe than sorry. Leave your stuff.. keep a TL box open and do it in under 5 minutes.. duel.. have a clr rezz you right before 10 mins is up.. gives you about 15 mins (5 mins for box to pop). Insta gate potion.. Whatever works for you. Much luck.
Did my book the other night on Drinal, took just over 4 mins, but can be done easily if you know exact building to get to....
I bound in SH, zoned to Bazaar and jumped into arena, after I died I had wizzy TL with me to Hate. I hit H/S as soon as we landed...Wizzy targeted me in group window and then threw a TL to bind up for me. The bridge to the right (South) had 1 mob that saw through H/S, she had quite a small aggro radius and she stood on the farthest side of the bridge, though she saw through even with her back to me she did NOT aggro as I ran past her. Maestros place cannot be missed, as was posted above, stand no steps, turn 180 deg to the right and bam, there it is, there were 3 mobs in main room, and 1 to the left when you walk in, none of them saw through, I turned right, up the steps with a single in the room, and waltzed right over to the book.
Now in this run I dawdled and looked around a bit, my TL window popped (3 min timer now, I think), but as long as you have ANY type of rez/revive waiting for you ( no exps loss from arena ) you're Gtg, I wasted time waiting for mine by walking back to the zone-in point for giggles...
All in all, if you don't have a scheduled raid, or no-one is raiding Hate, get nekkid, grab a TL and run like mad, GL out there....Sly
Does anyone have a LOC of the book in new hate or better yet a map of new hate with a marked location? I think even eqatlas still has an old hate map up...
Well, that was a heart-pounding but fairly easy thing, just put all my equipment on a mule, got a SoW, got Invised, and had a TL cast on me, ran almost due south, turned to the right once I could see the stairs up to the Meistro's hall, turned right again around a wall, clicked on what looks like a rune covered wall, door opened to a Lich, past him up like 5 or 6 steps to a small room, book was on a waist high dresser slightly to the left from the door on the back wall of the room, grabed the book, accepted the TL. Done in 1min. 28sec.
Just did my solo book run without a hitch. Was kind of in the dark because the map posted didn't have the locations marked so I went ahead and put them in myself. Had plenty of time to con everything with my tl window up so need to get into a rush future solo runners.
