Personally, I always used the rule of 10 times after the last bit of coin I received. If I am gutsy, I do 20.

Everytime I've picked or helped someone pick it its always come off by pick #3 ... 10 should be sufficient.

Got note of Tani this morn on 12th pick after coins were gone.

Its been a while so I dont remember exactly what happend, but I either got the note on the 2nd or somewhere around 17th pick. One of those times I picked a page from him and I got all excited and I dont remember if that was the early or late pick. I went 20 times. I think I had to wait for about 6 spawns and I died three times.

For Fauny, after waiting through multiple respawns and getting tired of playing the game and tired in real life, I just kept on picking because there was nothing else to do. I got the note with 40 unsuccessful attempts after all money had been cleared.

Been trying to pick Tani with my 23 rogue while I keep him mezzed with my 65 bard. Haven't even gotten a copper from him.
