Final Fantasy Chrystal Chronicles and Multiplayer
Reply With Quote   #1

Aloha!

Is anybody here playing FFCC in multiplayer?
I cant for the life of me find out how to cast Haste with two players, or is that impossible?

gamefaqs.com says you need three players, but that seems a bit odd. I should be able to cast Haste with two players only! Or maybe i'm doing something wrong... gamefaqs says its life+cure+cure.

maybe i'm translating the names wrong, i'm playing the german version. but the names are pretty self explanatory.

hm. Can anybody shed some light on this?

Aekel.

you need 3 people, one casting life and 2 casting cure. Hence the Life + Cure + Cure. I'm going straight to hell, just like my momma said.

if you do that, than druids will want complete heal, and casters will want to be able to open chests in ldon's......

Speaking of FF:CC...I'm not liking it so much. Even mutliplayer. I mean, I woulda bought it even if it sucked cause I want to encourage Square to make more GC games. But it feels like a Gauntlet Legends...only prettier, and slower.

I've enjoyed the hell outta the single-player game, but I played multi-player for the first time tonight, and damn...it sucks.

I dunno, the jury is still out on FF:CC. My two buddies and I have put some time into it and our reactions oscillate equally between 'meh' and 'WOOT!'.

I suppose time will tell. We keep playing Smelee instead though.

My complaint is for all the multiplayerness, they made it a pain in the @#%$ ass to transfer characters from one game to another. For instance, you can't transfer a character from one saved game on a card to another saved game on the card. So if I want to do it, I first have to copy the ENTIRE FF:CC to a second save game card. And this file is huge. Then transfer your character BACK. Its a huge @#%$ hassle if you wanna play solo, and then use that same character later in a multigame like I do.

the sphere of no fog isnt big enough for multiplayer imo. and the fact that everyone needs to have GBAs is a big roadblock.

The everyone having GBAs was the only think that wasn't a problem for me oddly enough. I have a GC, all my friends have GBAs...I just needed to buy link cables.

How is FF:CC single player?
I was thinking about buying it, but was thinkign.. I don't have a GBA, I don't know anyone with one.. and don't have any friends that would be intersted in playing it with me anyway, and it seemed to be made for MP.. so I just didn't get it.

Yeah, it seems to be made for multi-player, but single-player seems more polished and easier to play.

Single player is not good. You're better off buying Lords of Everquest or Dark Alliance 2.

Neither Champions of Norrath nor Dark Alliance 2 are available on the Gamecube.

They're both better games, though. Especially Champions of Norrath.

Well, it's definitely a rental. I got in on a price mistake on samgoody.com and am supposed to receive FF:CC for $15. But I don't want it, after renting it. It's that bad (single player). Edited by: Lisboa at: 3/17/04 12:58 am
