A German couple who went to a fertility clinic after eight years of marriage have found out why they are still childless - they weren't having sex.
The University Clinic of Lubek said they had never heard of a case like it after examining the couple who went to see them last month for fertility tests.
Doctors subjected them to a series of examinations and found they were both apparently fertile, and should have had no trouble conceiving.
A clinic spokesman said: "When we asked them how often they had had sex, they looked blank, and said: "What do you mean?".
"We are not talking retarded people here, but a couple who were brought up in a religious environment who were simply unaware, after eight years of marriage, of the physical requirements necessary to procreate."
The 30-year-old wife and her 36-year-old husband are now being given sex therapy lessons while the university clinic undertakes a study to try to find out if there are more couples with a similar lack of sex education.
I heard about this on the evening news last night. It made me laugh, and then cry to think that some people are so sheltered that they dont even know how to produce offspring. You might say "Well they are religious!" But look at Europe from about 300AD till 1500sAD. Church controlled alot of their lives, but they sure knew what to do.
with the amount of crap on tv, magazines or even just everyday society I find that hard to believe
unless of course theyve never owned a noise box, dont read anything at all, and didnt interact with any of us lowbrowed non bible bashing christians in their 36 years of being alive. Yeah thats damn wierd
You know, if they were raised in the jungle they would have eventually figured out what to do. In this case though (if it's real) they were explicitly told NOT to do anything with their naughty bits.
^
Seriously though. There is no way this could be true unless they were brainwashed at young ages to not touch the naughty bits except to clean them, and were punished with branding or something. I can't believe that the thought never occured to them, "Hmmm...tab A, slot B" or even "slot P!"
I love how they have to clarify in the article "They are not retarded, they are religious" I wonder how many times the media has to clarify that a day?
"We are not talking retarded people here, but a couple who were brought up in a religious environment who were simply unaware, after eight years of marriage, of the physical requirements necessary to procreate."
I would have to beg to differ.. Thousands of years ago cave men figured it out (I am assuming), yet somehow it's a mystery to you.. That just baffles me.
